Job purpose

The Director of Clinical Programming will be charged with the oversight of mental health programming sponsored by the Program/Clinical department. Under the direction of the Chief Clinical Officer, the Director of Clinical Programming will work to meet the increased demand of school and community mental health needs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality mental health services to students, their families, and their communities. 

Duties and responsibilities

• Support the project development of a meaningful mental health model for school districts and agency partnerships, agency growth and training, and school integration of community-based mental health services.
• Develop and maintain a sustainable model of mental health service delivery through multiple modalities including, but not limited to: therapeutic and psychoeducational  groups service delivery, individual therapy, family therapy, and parent engagement to provide regional mental health support and services in the Communities In Schools of the Dallas Region service delivery area.
• Create, coordinate, and deliver trainings to Communities In Schools of the Dallas Region’s staff (in large all staff and small cluster settings) and service delivery area. Youth Mental Health First Aid training certification and maintenance of certification is a requirement upon hire.
• Become certified as a Youth Mental Health First Aid Trainer upon hire.
• Coordinate and facilitate Youth Mental Health First Aid Training for staff and community partners.
• Cultivates and maintains working relationships with internal staff and outside agencies, i.e. behavioral health organizations, healthcare providers, and other community organizations; attends professional meetings as required; engages with the community to increase visibility of mental health programming.
• Coordinate yearly evaluations of mental health programming, including an analysis of feedback and reports to all relevant stakeholders.
• Participate in periodic requests for proposal development and review, re-establishing existing and creating new mental health programs (i.e. clinical training program).
• Receive, screen and process campus incident reports (IR), sharing with CCO for feedback & responding in a timely manner for official follow up. Maintain IR logs, interventions and notes, inclusive of campus correspondence and follow up.
• Maintain licensure and attend external clinical training no less than twice per year, inclusive of ethics, diversity, and mental health first aid and various intervention strategies. 
• Provide best practice curriculum design elements to core service components, ensuring direct service framework.
• Assist in the execution of an annual audit process to include case record review of services provided by the Clinical Team, ensuring clinical service barriers are addressed.
• Provide support to the Chief Clinical Officer regarding direct services and how they relate to research, staffing needs, staff training, and grant development. Extend research to campus visits and staff dialogues regarding trends in presentation and practice.
• Provide two on-site clinical caseload consultations per semester to clinical coordinators  as well as ongoing, regular clinical feedback and support.
• Communicate any concerns about the quality of clinician’s work to the Chief Clinical Officer in a timely manner. 
• Assist Executive and Clinical Team in crafting education policy intervention and reform 

research papers, potential publications, and practice to support grant development and 

solicitations.

• Represent CISDR in partnerships and external committees supporting mental health, 

drug/alcohol addiction, clinical in/outpatient treatment planning.

• Attend CISDR administration meetings and perform other tasks that may be assigned.

Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited college or university required. 

Preferred Qualifications 

• Minimum of eight (8) years of experience working with and/or for community mental health agencies.
• Extensive experience in developing and delivering engaging and informative training sessions focused on mental health and other pertinent topics
• Previous participation on, and working knowledge of, school districts
• Experience building and maintaining meaningful relationships between organizations and departments. 

Licenses and Certifications

LPC, LCSW, or LMFT required

LPC-S or LCSW-S preferred

RPT or RPT-S preferred

• Skilled multi-tasker and excellent time manager; ability to effectively achieve multiple goals and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Outstanding knowledge of child development, social and environmental conditioning, cultural diversity and family systems
• Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and interventions
• Ability to develop supportive consultative relationships with network and school leaders, classroom teachers, school-based mental health professionals, and other stakeholders
• Familiarity with SEL Standards and CPS-supported SEL strategies (i.e. Restorative Practices, Behavioral Health Team, etc.)

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry and otherwise move up to 15 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, or walk for various lengths of time throughout the day.
• Ability to utilize computer equipment to complete daily work responsibilities.
• Ability to operate fax/copy machines, telephone, calculator and   general office equipment on a daily basis.
• Inside work in an office environment with no exposure to weather conditions.
• Available to work 7.5 hours per day and/or 37.5 hours per week or more as necessary to meet objectives.
• Ability to travel for meetings, agency trainings and other miscellaneous work assignments within or outside the Greater Dallas Area. Reliable transportation is a must.
