Nonprofit Financials – Understanding Reality and Ensuring a Future

October 28, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Often, the quietest part of a staff or board meeting is the financial portion of the agenda. Financials can be overwhelming and confusing if you don’t understand what you are looking at or aren’t comfortable asking questions. However, it is important for nonprofit professionals and board members alike to be able to understand financial statements as they are vital to the organization’s operations and sustainability. During this workshop, you will learn how to read your organizations financial story by means of financial statements and gain insight on how to analyze them, thereby facilitating greater financial awareness, engagement and strategic planning.

After attending this workshop you will:

  • Become acquainted with basic nonprofit financial statements and footnotes
  • Learn the information they provide and how they’re generated and used
  • Understand some variations in presentation
  • Recognize common financial terminology
  • Know how to perform basic analysis
