Background

Church of the Incarnation is a resource size parish located in Dallas, committed to worshipping God in the great tradition of the church, growing disciples of Jesus Christ, serving the poor, and developing leaders for the renewal of the church.

 

General Area of Responsibility

The Project Manager for Local Outreach, with a passion and a sense of call to serve our brothers and sisters most in need in the community surrounding our parish, will implement local ministries in support of Incarnation’s commitment to serving the poor and growing disciples of Jesus Christ. This is a hands-on and highly relational ministry.

More broadly, as Project Manager for Local Outreach, this person will be responsible for:

  1. Ability to foster a strong working relationship with educators, partners, non-profits, and local churches.
  2. Research, plan, manage and oversee implementation of one of the largest annual all-parish volunteer events.
  3. Working with lay leaders to oversee several local ministries in support of local schools and other entities designated by Mission and Outreach.
  4. Identifying and developing new opportunities to serve underrepresented communities within scope of Mission and Outreach vision and available resources.

 

Duties:

Specific duties for the Project Manager position will include but are not limited to management of the following:

  1. Local ministry project management duties of planning, communication, budget, and volunteer management while demonstrating accountability and sound stewardship.
  2. Aid in communicating the vision of the programs to the parish and groups of which we partner.
  3. Orchestrate inviting parishioners into local outreach by ensuring volunteers are inspired, encouraged, and empowered to take on the responsibility for maintaining the ongoing vitality of the program.
  4. Interface with many entities locally including parishioners, agencies, school personnel, pastors from other churches and community leaders.
  5. Complete administrative tasks for project management including scheduling meetings and interfacing with facilities and communications departments. This includes learning church database and scheduling software.
  6. Oversee Communications from Mission and Outreach department, representing a consolidated effort monthly, and by working closely with the Communications department.
  7. Assist with calendar and email administration for Deacon for Local Outreach.
  8. Assist in special projects and initiatives as needed with Mission and Outreach team.

  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Attendance requirements at worship and parish events to be determined in conversation with candidate, some evenings and weekends required.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft products
  • Experience in leading teams of volunteers

 

Reporting

This person reports to the Director of Mission and Outreach.

 

Hours

The position is regular full day office hours, 40 hours per week, with benefits available. Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
