Hybrid position: Work from Home/Office in Dallas, TX.

Position Summary:
The Director of Grant Financial Management & Compliance helps ensure effectiveness and compliance of the finance and accounting functions related to all government funding. This is achieved by providing the primary accounting functions and coordination as it relates to all government grants and other non-government grant fiscal processes. Reports outcome status to leadership, work with CFO on special projects and overall financial management.
Grant Accounting Primary Functions & Responsibilities:
• Prepares financial reports and reimbursements for governmental and non-governmental granting entities.
- Prepare foundation and government grant budgets, and ongoing reporting.
- Provides fiscal narratives when needed.
- Review grant billing & documentation prepared by Grant Administrator
- Ensure all expenditures have appropriate supporting documentation and that they are reasonable, allowable, and within the scope of the grant.

  • Fiscal administration of grants to ensure compliance with applicable grant standards, ensure all internal controls, federal requirements, and sub-recipient policies are maintained.
  • Prepare written and statistical financial information as it pertains to grant financial deliverables. Communicates ongoing grant status to Market Presidents and Leadership.
    - Strategically analyze and put together cost allocation methods to ensure full use of grant funds that are in alignment with the individual grant specifics.
    - Cost allocation, grant revenue, and continual updates to projections for Lone Star and individual markets.
    - Works with appropriate agency departments to gather data for reports and ensure that proper records are maintained.
  • Coordinates external audits and monitoring for grant awards. o Brings necessary team together to communicate audit/monitoring dates and responsibilities/deliverables.
    - Lead annual Single Audit & External Audits.
  • Coordinates and conducts financial monitoring of sub-recipients.
    - Brings necessary team together to communicate audit/monitoring dates and responsibilities/deliverables.
    -Wrap up audit by reporting results to team after audit/monitoring and ensure all documentation is on file.
    - Complete Fiscal monitoring of sub-recipients
  • Coordinates grant records and processes:
    - Ensure all grant billings, contracts, etc. are on file and accessible by anyone needed.
    - Ensures all financials required by the grant writing team are on file and accessible.
    - Develop processes and standards for grant team.
  • Assist with annual audit and budget process

Education, Experience, and Other Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- 5+ Years of Non-Profit and Federal/State Government Grant experience preferred.
-  Proven knowledge in the area of Grant Management and Compliance.
- Knowledgeable and experienced with accounting software and databases.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting theory, concepts and practices
- Thorough knowledge of accounting guidelines and procedures of generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP) for non-profit entities
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills for monitoring records and ongoing financial activities
- Willingness to understand BBBS mentoring programs.
- Intermediate level proficiency in Excel, MSWord, Outlook, and PowerPoint, including keyboard skills of 45 words per minute, error free.
