SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:

 

The People & Culture Administrative Assistant will provide general Human Resources (HR) and administrative support, which will allow for much-needed flexibility, engagement and responsiveness for our growing organization.

 

This position is classified as FLSA non-exempt, which is eligible for overtime, and will report directly to the Director of Talent Recruitment and Retention.

 

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

 

  • Provide generalist support for the human resources function at KERA
  • Assist with hiring and onboarding new team members by: putting up external job postings, downloading resumes, updating the Applicant Tracking system, tracking recruitment efforts for EEO reporting, coordinating with IT (as requested), scheduling interviews, writing offer letters, ordering business cards, making new hire gift bags
  • Provide general assistance with HR data requests for grants and reporting purposes such as total employee headcount, demographics, etc.
  • Pull information for monthly all staff meetings
  • Assist with maintaining of non-Insperity provided benefits such as: Alight, In-Touch and Milliman
  • Provide general office support by: ordering office supplies, maintaining and ordering new hire gift bag inventory, receiving onsite deliveries, general errands, assisting with mailings, filing, maintain lists and subscriptions and creating reports
  • Support internal/external meetings by: arranging preparations for in-person and virtual events and meetings including working with IT for technology and A/V setup, ordering, picking up and managing delivery of catering and other supplies, assisting with physical or virtual room setup, organizing and preparing materials and handouts, breakdown and clean-up and supporting hybrid meetings
  • Support KERA’s Belonging Team by: ordering and distributing employee gift cards, managing subscriptions, assisting with preparations for in-person and virtual events and activities including technology and A/V requests; ordering, pickup and managing delivery of catering and other supplies; developing presentations; assisting with physical or virtual room setup, breakdown and clean-up; and supporting hybrid meetings
  • Managing invoices, expense reports, and other financial administrative needs in coordination with Finance, for the People & Culture and Belonging Team
  • Be an active participant in KERA’s work towards equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging.
  • Work in a manner that is consistent with KERA’s mission, vision and values; and maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures
  • Comply with KERA’s COVID policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Someone who has work experience in an office setting, as a personal/executive assistant, or equivalent
  • Proficient in the use of digital media tools in both virtual and face-to-face environments
  • A desire to help create, implement and support equitable and inclusive internal systems
  • Demonstrated excellent writing and communication skills
  • Quick learner who is able to solve problems, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • High level of flexibility to balance multiple priorities and respond to last-minute requests
  • Able to interact and communicate diplomatically with internal and external stakeholders
  • Tactful and discreet with regards to confidential information
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License and insurance required for assignments/activities that may involve work outside the office and/or operating the company vehicle

 

 

BONUS IF YOU BRING:

 

  • Specific experience as a HR generalist or HR professional, or general interest in learning more about the HR field
  • Passion for and experience in public broadcasting and/or non-profit management

 

 

SALARY RANGE

 

$43,000-$48,000, depending on experience

LOCATION:

 

We expect that this position will work out of our Dallas office at least 75% of the time.
