Job Purpose

 

The Director of Traditional Programming will report to the Chief Program Officer and is part of the Program Management Team. This role will manage a team of Regional Directors and will share responsibility for the successful implementation of the Communities In Schools of the Dallas Region (CISDR) integrated student support services model in all partner districts. The Director of Traditional Programming will work closely with all CISDR departments and champion internal initiatives to support our Program Team and drive the best possible outcomes for the students we serve. Duties and Responsibilities

 

Staff Management & Development

  • Lead, coach, and train a team of 7-10 Regional Directors
  • Provide real-time coaching and conduct annual performance reviews for Regional Director Team
  • Work with Regional Directors to plan the school year programming and use best practices in expanded learning opportunities, positive youth development, and youth engagement as a guide
  • Conduct bi-weekly Regional Director team meetings to provide staff development and support, organizational guidance, and learning opportunities for the team
  • Work closely with Human Resources on employee relations and performance management
  • Work with the Regional Director team to address performance or other issues as they arise within their respective regional teams
  • Serve as an additional contact and resource for districts as needed to support the Regional Directors and Site Coordinators

 

Strategic Collaboration

  • Strategize with Chief Program Office and Regional Directors to create consistency among programs throughout the districts around core program areas, policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with the Chief Program Officer to set annual goals for the Program Team incorporating all TEA and other state, federal, and/or funding requirements
  • Work with Regional Directors to set individual and district goals that are aligned with the overall Program Team goals
  • Partner across all CISDR departments to champion internal programs, initiatives and compliance requirements with the Regional Directors and their district teams to create greater efficiencies in Program reporting, documentation, compliance and over all services
  • Collaborate with Regional Directors to identify staff training and resource needs and work cross-functionally with other departments to generate needed support
  • Serve as a strategic partner between the Regional Directors, school-based staff, administrative team, and district staff to promote and foster positive relationships and communication across all levels
  • Work with the Chief Program Officer and School Relationship Manager to develop relationships with new districts and schools while fostering positive district relations with current district partners to support a stronger program maximizing CISDR enrollment for services

 

Reporting and Compliance

  • Consistently monitor monthly Salesforce reports and use data to ensure case management numbers are being attained, including services provided to students and families, and on-site group programming for all campuses
  • Partner with Regional Directors to support and motivate all Program team members to adhere to systems of progress and documentation towards outcomes and evaluation measurements for each program
  • Regularly review processes and suggest policy updates/recommendations to Regional Directors
  • Work with Regional Directors to ensure all TEA, Federal, State, and District regulatory compliance
  • Implement and ensure strict adherence to all CISDR policies, procedures, programs and processes

 

Budgeting & Revenue Generation

  • Assist each Reginal Director with the design and management of campus budgets for their respective districts and communicate those needs to the Chief Program Officer for the overall Program budget
  • Participate in development and fundraising activities as requested and appropriate

 

Marketing and Communications

  • Work with Regional Directors to supervise program promotion and visibility on campus and the community while ensuring all materials meet CISDR communications standards
  • Support CISDR program promotion and visibility ensuring Regional Directors are contributing to the campus-based updates, events, and social media

 

Qualifications

 

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university required
  • Masters degree preferred
  • At least 5 - 7 years management experience including supervision of employees, projects, and programs
  • At least 10 years overall related experience in case management, youth services, education, or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to build and coach a team of individual business unit leaders
  • Early Childhood Education/Education field preferred, however not required

Must possess required knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience and be able to explain and demonstrate, with or without reasonable accommodations, that the essential functions of the job can be performed.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of principles and methods for development design and coordination of CISDR programs, activities and events
  • Knowledge of CISDR and school district practices, policies and procedures
  • Knowledge of fiscal and budget planning
  • Knowledge of safety practices and procedures including all applicable HIPAA and FERPA requirements
  • Knowledge of supervisory and managerial techniques and methods
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective time management and organization skills
  • Ability to effectively priorities competing needs and demonstrate sound judgement and decision-making
  • Ability to design, market and promote CISDR programs
  • Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with other School Administration, CISDR employees and the general public
  • Ability to cultivate and professionally grow CISDR Site Coordinators.
  • Ability to speak publicly and complete presentations on a wide range of topics relating to the work of CISDR programs

 

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

 

  • Ability to lift, carry and otherwise move up to 15 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, or walk for various lengths of time throughout the day.
  • Ability to utilize computer, software, and general office equipment to complete daily work responsibilities.
  • Inside work in an office environment with no exposure to weather conditions.
  • Reliable transportation is a must to travel for meetings, agency trainings and other miscellaneous work assignments within any CISDR supported districts
