Description

Tarrant County Samaritan Housing (Samaritan House) is a nonprofit organization which has provided housing and support services to disabled, low-income individuals in Tarrant County, Texas for over thirty years. The Samaritan House mission is to support challenged individuals and families as they move toward independence by providing housing, resources, and hope. The Director of Development, under the direction of the President/CEO, will be responsible for all Samaritan House fundraising, including donor cultivation and identification, foundation and corporate grant proposals, direct mail appeals, website development, online giving and special event planning.

Duties:

  • Develop and implement strategic fundraising plans to meet organizational goals.
  • Identify and cultivate relationships with potential donors and sponsors.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of grant writing and reporting.
  • Create and execute fundraising campaigns, including email marketing and social media outreach.
  • Develop promotional materials and messaging for fundraising efforts.
  • Lead the agency’s social media strategy and website.
  • Coordinate and manage fundraising events, including budgets, logistics, sponsorship, and volunteer management.
  • Monitor and analyze fundraising data to track progress towards goals and identify areas for improvement and provide regular reports to management.

Skills:

  • Highly motivated and proven self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and lead the organization to increased funding.
  • Success conducting special events that produce significant revenue gain for a project or organization.
  • Strong budgeting skills with the ability to develop and manage a comprehensive fundraising budget.
  • Proficiency in email marketing platforms such as Constant Contact or similar software.
  • Knowledge of the DFW fundraising environment and track record of goal attainment.
  • Demonstrated ability to build a donor pipeline by developing relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporations.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategies to establish and significantly deepen the base of support from individual donors.
  • Knowledge of donor management software, such as Raiser's Edge, Salesforce, or Bloomerang.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders (residents, staff, board, donors, volunteers, and community).
  • Excellent grant writing skills with a proven track record of successful grant applications
  • Experience in volunteer management, including recruitment, training, and retention.
