About KidLinks:

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides healing, hope, and happiness for children and families through therapeutic music entertainment and music therapy programs. For almost four decades, impacting more than 400,000 children and caregivers, KidLinks has provided healing experiences for the special needs of children through performing arts and media, funded therapeutic music initiatives, university-level music therapy training, and free/low-cost treatment programs for children in need.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties:

The Director of Development is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all of KidLinks’ fundraising, including the major gifts program, annual fund, planned giving, special events, and capital campaigns.

Goal Setting / Budgeting:

  • Sets annual monetary goals and budgets according to short- and long-term goals
  • Establishes fundraising objectives for the organization, setting one-year, five-year, and longer-term goals

Direct Fundraising:

  • Maintains a list of potential financial donors, including corporations, foundations, and individuals
  • Communicates with donors and staff via email, phone, or social media
  • Uses prospect research tools and donor database to build and expand donor relationships
  • Creates solicitation materials for fundraising efforts

Events:

  • Plans and executes fundraising events that effectively communicate the purposes of the organization (2 major events per year)

Grants and Public Funding:

  • Researches potential sources of, and applies for, grants and public funding

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree
  • 5+ years in development and/or sales
  • Advanced knowledge of fund development theories, principles, and procedures
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of direct mail requirements and best practices
  • Ability to adjust work pace to maximize production without loss of work quality
  • Ability to plan and execute special events
  • Experience in grant writing and management
  • Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Some knowledge of different CRM systems

This position is full-time and is hybrid (in person and remote). Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
