DARCC’s Counseling Fellowship Program is an opportunity for mental health clinicians who have completed a master’s degree to receive training that includes extensive clinical experience, supervision, and educational opportunities while they prepare for final licensure.
The Fellowship Program is generally two to three years, subject to periodic review of the fellow by supervisory staff. The continuance of the fellow at any point in the program is at the discretion of the organization. Fellows are compensated as full-time exempt employees of DARCC.
Currently, we are considering individuals who are bilingual in English and Spanish for the fellowship.
Fellowship Benefits

• Through specialized training and expert supervision and support, the opportunity to develop proficiency in the treatment of sexual assault survivors culminating in the receipt of a Completion of Fellowship Certificate indicating expertise in the field
• Ability to develop a thorough understanding of the systemic response to sexual violence and North Texas’s specific coordinated community response
• Ability to complete DARCC’s OAG Certified Sexual Assault Advocate training
• Knowledge of relevant community resources and networking opportunities that will help foster relationships with relevant stakeholders
• Opportunity to receive clinical supervision by a Board Approved Licensed Clinical Supervisor employed by DARCC, or alternatively, the partial or full reimbursement of costs for DARCC recommended off-site Clinical Supervisors
• Ability to participate in strong team building with peer support and peer consultation
• During the first half of the fellowship, the opportunity to participate in specialized training such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)
• During the second half of the fellowship, the opportunity to develop leadership skills by serving as a mentor to other fellows or interns and by providing training to other staff, volunteers, and community groups
• Reimbursement of license renewal fees and cost of the licensure upgrade application
• Ability to work in a hybrid in-office/remote work environment
• Potential for continued employment with DARCC upon completion of the Fellowship Program

Expectations of Fellows

• Develop a personal program of self-directed study and professional growth with guidance from their supervising staff
• Conduct therapeutic evaluations and provide evidence-based treatments for survivors of sexual assault
• Complete at least 75% of required supervised hours serving DARCC clients
• Maintain proper case notes and treatment plans using the electronic records system
• Participate in individual and group supervision and case consultations
• Attend staff meetings and all required staff activities
• Participate in additional training seminars and individualized educational experiences
• Teach and mentor other fellows or interns as assigned
• Adhere to DARCC’s established practices, procedures, and policies

Eligibility Requirements

• Completion of a master’s degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, or marriage and family therapy
• Current Texas license as LPC-Associate, LMFT-Associate, or LMSW
• Commitment to DARCC’s mission to engage and educate communities to prevent sexual violence and to support survivors and their loved ones as they heal and thrive

• Ability to speak, read, and write in English with fluency
• Ability to work with adolescents and adults of diverse ethnic, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds
• Ability to collaborate with individual professionals and community agency networks to coordinate services for clients
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• Ability to set priorities, maintain productivity, and adjust to flexible working hours
• Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Non-judgmental, accepting attitude toward other people regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, age, or appearance
