Motivate and Engage Your Board in Fundraising

Engaging and motivating the board is crucial to your organization’s fund development. However, this can be intimidating or overwhelming, leaving you unsure of how to relate or where to start. This session will help you understand the board’s responsibility for fundraising and discover new ways to for staff leadership to engage in the work of development, even when they say they are not fundraisers.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand a board’s role in nonprofit management, including fund development and staff’s leadership role in working with board members.
  • Learn how to invite every board member to accept a fundraising task.
  • Discover ways to deepen board members’ understanding of your mission and empower them to champion the cause.
  • Learn to assess and influence the board’s makeup through your organization’s board development process.
