Vice President of Workforce & Career Development

Presbyterian Night Shelter is known for serving the homeless in greatest need: those who have no other places to go.  Those who present the greatest challenge to our community are welcome here.  As the largest homeless shelter in Tarrant County, we serve approximately 1,000 men, women and children each night.

Its mission is to create employment opportunities that reduce barriers contributing to homelessness. Each year UpSpire has had a net profit that helps support Presbyterian Night Shelter. 

Job Summary

As the Vice President of Workforce & Career Development, you will play a crucial role in shaping and executing UpSpire's strategic vision to provide employment solutions for vulnerable populations. This leadership position requires a visionary, results-driven individual with a passion for social impact, strong business acumen, and the ability to drive innovative workforce initiatives. This position reports to and works closely with the agency CEO to set the strategy for continued growth and success. Responsibilities to include, strategic leadership, program development & expansion, financial planning, operational management, budgeting & invoicing, client & community engagement, alignment with support services, employee recruitment & supervision, employee success strategies, performance metrics & reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the social enterprise profession.
  • Experience starting a business or working in a social enterprise environment preferred
  • Seven to ten years of management experience
  • Current Texas Driver's License required.
  • Must provide proof of auto liability insurance.
