Vice President of Housing Services

Presbyterian Night Shelter is known for serving the homeless in greatest need: those who have no other place to go.  Those who present the greatest challenge to our community are welcome here.  As the largest homeless shelter in Tarrant County, we serve approximately 1,000 men, women and children each night.

Job Summary

The Vice President of Housing Services reports directly to the CEO and is a member of the senior leadership team and has responsibility for the growth and development of the housing department. The housing department includes 25+ employees, 175+ tenants in scattered site settings, two current site based locations with 48 tenants and two other site based locations under construction for an additional 144 tenants.  Providing long-term permanent housing will be a significant driver for the organization with hundreds of additional units being added to the housing department.  This position also has responsibility and oversight of government grant writing and compliance. In addition, supervision of personnel, program design, tenant engagement, and leading a department of excellence is required. This position also has a role with the board of directors by attending all meetings and direct oversight and leadership of the board program committee.

Qualifications

  • Must have at least 8+ years’ experience of providing supervision of a social service organization, including supervision of case management activities
  • Bachelor’s degree required and a master’s degree in social work highly recommended
  • Must have professional employment related experience with individuals living with homelessness, substance abuse, mental illness, and criminal histories
  • Must have professional experience in creating and developing new programs, especially related to housing
  • Must have professional experience in the development process for new facilities
  • Must have professional employment related experience in grant writing and compliance
  • Must have professional employment experience with being highly collaborative with team members and community partners
  • Experience managing program budgets is required
  • Experience in working alongside board members is required
  • Must be able to embrace and affirm the mission of the Presbyterian Night Shelter
  • Available to work occasional nights and weekends
  • Must be proficient in basic Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, & PowerPoint
