TITLE: Training Coordinator 

Pay Type: Salary 

FLSA: Exempt 

COMPENSATION: $50,000 - $55,000 annually  

REPORTS TO: Training Manager 

ORGANIZATION SUMMARY 

Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance leads the work to end homelessness in Dallas and Collin Counties through collaborative planning of public policy, public and private financing strategies, housing and services planning and oversight, and is the lead agency of the HUD-MDHA Continuum of Care, also known as The Homeless Collaborative. 

POSITION SUMMARY 

MDHA is looking for passionate trainer to join us in ending our mission homelessness in Dallas and Collin Counties. As part of the Performance Management team and under direct supervision of the Training Manager, the Training Coordinator will lead all facets of training for the Dallas and Collin County Continuum of Care across multiple platforms.  

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 

Under the supervision of the Training Manager, the Training Coordinator will be:  

  • Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing training courses and materials for all MDHA programs 
  • Provide extensive training to various level of end users on HMIS data collection platforms and their respective reporting features, including annual Privacy, Security and Ethics training for all end users  
  • Provide extensive training to various level of case managers and other direct services providers on CoC Best Practices and Operations, including Coordinated Assessment System, Trauma Informed Care, Housing First, etc. 
  • Maintain familiarity of and competency of U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) HMIS Data Standards and CoC Program Regulations while providing detailed training on all standards, manuals, and policies  
  • Remains conversant with all applicable laws, policies, regulations, and guidelines as it pertains to HUD HMIS standards and regulations 
  • Maintain training documents to align with current standards and best practices  
  • Maintain proficiency with all vendor products and stay current on all changes and updates  
  • Create and maintain an online catalog of training materials, videos and resources and publish on our website and Youtube channel  
  • Facilitate virtual trainings when necessary and provide all upcoming training dates on our website  
  • Conduct demonstrations and training for internal and external customers on product capabilities, processes and procedures 
  • Directly respond to all requests as assigned and assist with administrative support as necessary   
  • Participate in CoC and HMIS Workgroup meetings and other project related meetings as needed  
  • Perform other duties as necessary and assigned  
  • Supports in the development and Implementation of the Learning Management System (LMS) 
  • Administers the LMS and serves and point of contact for end learners 
  • Review and edit training materials and deliverables produced by other team members as needed 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:  

  • Experience working in areas of training and data strongly preferred 
  • Experience with ClientTrack, HMIS and web technologies is a plus  
  • Familiarity and competency with HUD HMIS Data Standards is a plus 
  • Experience in the development of technical training programs and end user documentation strongly preferred 
  • Previous experience as a trainer for online platforms strongly preferred  
  • Experience producing written and screenshot/video strongly preferred   
  • Proficient in Microsoft office i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook 
  • Experience with Camtasia and Snagit editing tools is a plus 
  • Excellent computer skills with attention to details 
  • Excellent written, oral communication, and listening skills with all levels of management, staff, and external clients, especially those who are not well versed with computers and technology 
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to positively diffuse user frustration 

REQUIREMENTS:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Human Services, or Public Administration or similar field or 2 years of work experience   
  • Must have reliable transportation, valid state issued driver’s license and car insurance. Please note that travel is required on a limited basis. 

WORK SCHEDULE:  

MDHA considers normal hours of operation Monday – Friday from 8:00am-5:00pm. Some nights and weekend meetings might be required to meet the need of partner agencies or to represent MDHA at community meetings. 

COMPENSATION 

  • The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $55,000  
  • MDHA has a flexible PTO policy for all full-time employees. The office is officially closed on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, & Christmas Day. MDHA has MLK Jr., Juneteenth, and Election Day as Days of Service.  
  • This position is eligible for employer-provided benefits:  
    • MDHA pays 90% of employee Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance and 50% of Family Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance.  
  • MDHA provides Basic Life Insurance as well as Short and Long Term Disability Insurance 
  • MDHA will provide a laptop. We will additionally provide the applicant a phone and/or hot spot if needed.
