Job Summary:

Cultivates corporate businesses or organizations and foundation to solicit funds and gifts-in-kind for The North Texas Area Command; cultivates and solicits from existing corporate donors, as well as developing portfolios of new corporate donors as assigned by the Director of Institutional Giving and Events; performs corporate and foundation file analysis, caseload and goal setting, packaging of program offerings and opportunities; Working with the volunteer team, strengthens relationships with corporate volunteer representatives to increase engagement, assesses giving potential, presents requests and applications and stewards gifts.

 Cultivation, Solicitation, and Stewardship of Corporations (80%)

Assures The Salvation Army’s impact, mission, programs, programs and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to potential and currently engaged corporations throughout the North Texas Area Command.

Maintain a portfolio of corporate donors and a prospect pipeline to raise funds to support the work of The Salvation Army of North Texas.

Responsibility for analyzing the gift potential of corporations within the North Texas Command, particularly those whose employees volunteer with The Salvation Army, and devising an appropriate strategy to solicit gifts.

Ensures comprehensive profiles are developed and maintained for each corporate prospect and donor.

Ensures accurate records of contacts, relationships, activities, meeting notes and giving histories for corporate prospects and donors are maintained.

Creates and implements plans and proposals for solicitation of appropriate corporations.

Actively uses internal case statements and gift opportunities to provide accurate information and opportunities to donors.

Develops letters, proposals and impact reports for corporations.

Accompanies Advisory Board members, volunteers, Area Commanders, and the Senior Director, Community Relations as needed in support of visits with corporate and civic groups.

Identifies, recruits, cultivates, motivates and coaches volunteers to assist in creating and strengthening relationships with their corporations.

Ensures coordination of communications, stewardship and solicitation activities result in maximizing relationships with corporations.

Strategic Planning and Evaluation Responsibilities (20%)

Creates, implements and evaluates a comprehensive, annual corporate engagement and solicitation plan with measurable objectives/process goals, action plans, cost implications and responsibility assignments.

Creates, implements and evaluates a process for converting non-donor corporations whose employees volunteer with The Salvation Army to donors.

Creates and implements an annual plan for corporate stewardship, recognition, retention, renewal and up-grading.

Develops and implements strategies to identify, cultivate and solicit potential and current corporate donors with the ultimate goal of moving them toward closure of proposed gifts.

Analyzes and reports the progress and financial outcomes of activities weekly.

Other Responsibilities

Travels, as needed, to represent The Salvation Army within the North Texas Command to support and enhance all development programs and projects.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Materials and Equipment:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of corporate volunteer and funding opportunities.   Knowledge and ability to review and prepare reports from donor software Interchange.   Ability to administer a budget and monitors expenditures for compliance with the same.  Ability to prepare and maintain reports in an accurate and complete manner.   Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

And

Three years of experience in corporate relations and/or corporate giving,

Or

any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Certifications:

Valid Texas Drivers License

 Physical Requirements:

Ability to meet attendance requirements.   Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively.   Ability to speak before large groups in person, by radio and television.   Ability to travel to various locations within the Command in order to participate in meetings.   Ability and willingness to conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism.   Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.   Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) frequently.

Working Conditions:

Work may be performed in an office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt and the like but not limited to the office environment.
