Under the supervision of the COO, the Senior Director of Development & PR (SDD) is one of the agencies Servant Leaders. He or she serves as the leader of the Development Team and is a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Agency Leadership Team(ALT). Broadly speaking he or she plans, develops, and conducts development activities to raise funds for the agency, oversees volunteer engagement, donor database and the agencies public relations.

Servant Leaders serve. Their personal needs for recognition and notoriety are met last. Their team, agency, sponsors, volunteers, and family partner needs are all placed in front. Servant leaders lead by their title last. Servant Leaders lead and do notdo the work of the direct reports. Leadership is about creation, improvement and maintenance of sustainable systems that others can carry on and improve when your time is done.
