Reports To:                         Sr. Director, Non-Residential Services

Location:                              Central Dallas Counseling Center

Work Hours:                     Monday-Friday, 2 evenings until 8 pm and every other Saturday, 9-3:00 pm

 

Position Summary:  Responsible for the planning, coordination, oversight and growth of the Central Dallas Counseling Center.    Manages program staff, ensures continuous quality improvement, and leads community outreach efforts to increase client referrals and grows partnerships with key stakeholders in the surrounding areas – Central Dallas.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

CLINICAL SERVICES:

  • Ensures the program counselors, case managers and advocates complete a minimum of 75% of scheduled appointments with clients.
  1. This calculation is based on appointments scheduled on outlooks calendars by any staff.
  2. This calculation includes individual and group appointments.

(This KPI measures scheduling availability on employee calendars, oversight of staff time management, and retention rates of counseling center staff.)

  • Maintains an average program utilization rate of 60%.
  • Maintains a 90% client satisfaction rate based on surveys. (Direct client complaints via telephone, email or in person visit, will also be calculated in this target.)

(This KPI measures not only client satisfaction, but how well and consistently services are delivered and how potential complaints and concerns are addressed beforehand.  This KPI also measures the number of satisfaction surveys that are administered per the policy.)

  • Uses outcome data in Clients First Database to manage staff and program performance and manages the weekly client cue to ensure clients are being seen in a timely manner.
  • Provides crisis support to clients as needed.
  • Reviews the need for group and individual child-care contractors and ensures contracts, grant requirements and budgets are managed and maintained.

 

STAFF TRAINING

  • Observes new staff working with clients conducting individual, group and intake calls for clients, for a minimum of three (3) months, and provides feedback and support on counseling or other techniques and outcomes, in staff notes and in weekly meetings.
  • Ensures each staff will have a 50% attendance rate at The Family Place sponsored trainings, or a minimum of six trainings per year.
  1. Trainings and attendance must be recorded in the Learning Place.

(This KPI reflects staff development and training.)

  • Collaborates with the Manager for Employee Training and Development and ensure training programs fulfill the needs of program staff.
  • Facilitates weekly supervision meetings and program department staff meetings.
  • Ensures new staff members have a smooth, informative, and productive on-boarding process their first year of employment with agency by providing an orientation process that provides mentoring, coaching and training; feedback surveys will be sent to new staff throughout their first year of employment to capture their orientation process.

 

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

  • Works with the Sr. Director, Non-Residential Services to develop, implements and monitor a marketing strategy to broaden the Central Dallas Counseling Center office visibility within the community. This plan should include community education, training and participation in relevant community meetings and coordination with the Development Department for marketing collateral.
  • Hosts a minimum of two outreach/client collaboration events annually.

(This KPI speaks to community outreach and engagement and/or client celebrations.)

  • Provides oversight for MSW interns and/or LMSW interns seeking clinical licensure and provides agency and client educational opportunities to facilitate optimal student growth and development.
  • Actively cultivates and maintains collaborative working relationships with social-service and/or law enforcement agencies in the community that assist the clients of The Family Place.

 

ADMINISTRATION

  • Provides on-going assessment and evaluation of the clinical program to the Sr. Director, Non-Residential Services to ensure that client needs, agency standards and funding requirements are met.
  • Provides management of the daily operations of the Central Dallas Counseling Center and supervises staff, including interviewing, hiring and evaluating job performance.
  • Ensures accurate and up to date documentation, client files, and statistics as required by agency policies and funding sources.
  • Manages concerns relating to staffing, scheduling, productivity, customer service skills and workload expectations.
  • Provides regular individual and team clinical supervision to staff; provides clinical supervision to staff working towards full licensure.
  • Collaborates with the Sr. Director, Non-Residential Services in program development, grant writing, community presentations and grant reporting.
  • Assists in preparing and managing approved program budget.
  • Works closely with all of the non-residential programs to coordinate services to clients.

 

 

 

 

 

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT:

  • Completes on-boarding HR 101 trainings with Chief People and Belonging Officer within the first year of employment with The Family Place.
  • Attends agency provided, professional development courses relating to domestic violence and business acumen.
  • Maintains current social work or clinical licensure by completing the necessary, annual trainings and certifications.

 

Other Duties: Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements: Masters’ degree in social work, counseling, education, or related field required.  Clinical licensure required with supervisory licensure preferred. Three years of experience working with children/adolescents and/or family violence required, and two years management or supervisory experience required.   

 

Licenses and Certifications:

LCSW or LPC required

Valid Texas Driver’s License and clear driving record

 

Knowledge and Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the dynamics of domestic violence, childhood sexual abuse, incest recovery and related issues
  • Knowledge of the power and control wheel
  • Knowledge of, and ability to, apply counseling and diagnostic theories and techniques to a full range of diverse client populations.
  • Knowledge and experience of program development and performance management.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and oral) are required.
  • Ability to build strong teams to meet performance goals.
  • Understanding of the agency’s mission and culture and the ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with staff and clients in all circumstances.
  • Ability to relate with adult and child clients through understanding, respect and skilled communication.
  • Ability to follow all safety and precautionary rules and measures.
  • Ability to prioritize and self-motivate to accomplish program goals.
  • Ability to perform work efficiently and effectively under stressful situations.
  • Ability to follow professional code of ethics.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

 

Physical Requirements: Duties are usually performed seated with occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited physical effort is required associated with lifting and carrying objects (less than 25 lbs).

 

Working Conditions: Work must be performed in the agency office and is performed in an office-like setting.
