Title: Director of Marketing & Communications

Reports to: Chief Advancement Officer

Department: Marketing

Position Category: Permanent, Exempt

 

Position Summary: In collaboration with the President/CEO and Chief Advancement Officer, plan and coordinate all communications, marketing, and special events promotion of Texas Center for Arts + Academics and its entities. Paramount is the ability to understand and clearly articulate the organization's mission and the vision of the Board and President/CEO. As a key member of the Leadership Team, this individual leads by demonstrating an understanding of and passion for our programs while increasing stakeholder engagement within the organization and throughout our greater community.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Be accountable to all key stakeholders, including students and families, donors, volunteers, the general public, staff and faculty, board, etc.
  • Craft clear and accurate communications that support our strategic objectives
  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns to create and maintain high visibility consistent with the organization's brand
  • Oversee social media strategy and channels, email marketing, and website development and maintenance
  • Support media and external relationships and partnerships
  • Analyze and report all earned income goals including:
    • Advertising
    • Branding
    • Admission & Recruitment
    • Conservatory Programs & Summer Camps
    • Performances & Special Events
  • Leverage key engagement metrics across all platforms, measure ROI, create reports, and present updates and strategic plans to leadership and board of directors
  • Supervision: Advancement Assistant and various contractors
  • Others as assigned

 

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years communications/marketing experience; or minimum 5 years communications/marketing experience is required
  • At least 2 years of experience developing and managing communications campaigns. Writing for publication and customer service is Candidates with experience working with arts and/or education material is preferred

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Public speaking and presentation skills
  • Budget planning/management skills
  • High Proficiency or Expert knowledge and use of Databases, CRM software, MS Office, digital communications, and social media
  • Knowledge and use of Adobe Candidates with Proficient or Expert Knowledge is

preferred.

  • Valid Driver's License

 

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/ Environmental Factors:

  • Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and peripherals
  • Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
  • Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding, and use of mouse; occasional reaching
  • Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (up to 25 pounds)
  • Environment: Work is located on campus site; May work prolonged or irregular hours; Occasional travel; Occasional exposure to noise
  • Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress
