Description
We are seeking a Medical Office Specialist to deliver outstanding support to our patients and assist in managing front-office operations at Parkinson Voice Project. This position joins a team of 2.
Parkinson Voice Project is a nonprofit organization with the sole purpose of helping people with Parkinson's regain and retain their speech and swallowing. Patients are never charged for any speech therapy services. Therefore, our front-office team does not have to handle any billing or insurance issues.
The ideal candidate will have excellent written and verbal skills, will adapt easily to change in a fast-paced environment, will be detail-oriented with a talent for accuracy, will genuinely enjoy helping others, will smile easily and often, will want to learn new skills, and will excel at accomplishing tasks. This is a 24 to 32-hour, 4-day week (off Fridays), part to full-time position with benefits. We can be flexible on the hours with the right candidate.
Responsibilities: This position involves a variety of tasks including but not limited to:
- Answering calls from providers and patients regarding our services.
- Calling patients to schedule appointments.
- Coordinating with other medical offices and patients on referrals to our clinic.
- Using software to schedule patients' appointments.
- Sending reminder emails and texts for patients' appointments.
- Monitoring and managing multiple email inboxes.
- Creating weekly reports on tasks accomplished.
- Updating contacts and data in Salesforce.
Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and writing skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and Salesforce is a plus.
