Under the supervision of the Sr. Director of Strategy, Marketing & Communications, the Marketing Manager’s goal will be to help build brand awareness as well as help people engage in church events, worship services, and missional work. Their initial responsibilities developing an external marketing plan for the church, managing all advertising efforts, and optimizing internal processes to create new ideas & messaging across our ministries; all with the goal of growing the Kingdom of God. This role will have an analytical component working to understand what marketing vehicles work best along with a creative and writing component to develop new ideas and bring them to life. This position works both independently and within a team to respond to the marketing and advertising needs of St. Andrew to help our congregation find new ways to live more like Jesus every day.

Essential Functions

  • Work with ministry departments to develop successful marketing campaigns that attract new congregation members, inform current congregation members, and expand our current online presence
  • Conduct an annual/biannual congregational insights survey and communicate findings
  • Analyze all marketing channels (email, direct mail, social media) to discover insights to optimize messaging
  • Write creative briefs to internal creative team and partner with them to deliver high quality flawlessly executed marketing materials
  • Develop headlines and advertising copy solutions through your own writing as well as working on occasion with external resources
  • Partner with our internal creative & production team to create briefing processes and brainstorming forums
  • Explore new ideas and partners for our church externally that help support our mission
  • Manage our external PR consultant and all local PR opportunities to capitalize on exposure

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Physical Demands

This position would require the ability to move equipment from one location to another and the ability to lift 25 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This position is full-time salaried exempt at 36.5 hours per week. The position requires work on some weekends. Office hours will be set but are flexible around morning/evening events or other extra church activities.

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Communications or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in marketing preferred.
