Job Description:

The Marketing Communications Specialist will work under the direction of the Director of Marketing & Partnerships to grow and maintain the marketing efforts of our organization to meet the needs of those served by our missions. We are seeking a dynamic individual to join our growing team.

 

The Marketing Communications Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing content that articulates our message, builds our audience, and generates engagement across multiple digital platforms and traditional print forms. The Marketing Communications Specialist will support the voice of our organization ensuring it is consistent and effective throughout all communications. This position will also lead in project management of print and digital marketing efforts for development and program initiatives, including identifying and creating storytelling opportunities, building campaigns, and newsletters, and supporting blog content.

 

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field
  • 2+ years of related experience in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, or a related field
  • Excellent writing and verbal communication required 
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Suite, Google Analytics, Canva, Sprout Social or Hootsuite, MailChimp, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Experience with a website content management system and website metrics platform such as Google Analytics.
  • Basic knowledge of photography and photo editing skills
  • Experience creating content, and planning social media content for platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Linkedin, and TikTok
  • Video production/editing skills is a plus
  • Self-starter and ability to work as part of a collaborative team
  • Writing samples are required with application submission

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build monthly social media content calendar, plan, post, and manage content on channels
  • Produce creative social graphics, videos, copy, and collateral that fits established brand standards for the organization
  • Identify trends, viral moments, and creative engaging ways to educate and connect with our audience and partners 
  • Monitor competitor community activity on-going
  • Coordinate with internal staff on articles, client stories, and initiatives to feature in digital or print form
  • Manage project coordination as requests are received and support in managing projects from initiation to completion
  • Provide support in creating monthly and quarterly e-newsletters highlighting programs, services, and partnerships
  • Measure, analyze and report on the performance of marketing initiatives and social media analytics
  • Capture digital photos and videos as needed for use on social media, website, e-newsletters, presentations, print, etc.
  • Maintain an organized image/photo file system
  • Help to coordinate website maintenance and publish updates with staff and vendor partner
  • Attend staff meetings, committee meetings, fundraising events, and/or programs as needed
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

  • Possess the innate ability to bring creativity to every project and task, always thinking outside the box, and offering fresh, innovative, and trending ideas

 

Employment Type

  • Part-time/ $30hr to start with opportunity for full-time
  • Flexible schedule

 

Benefits:

This position is part-time (~20 hours), flexible and hybrid (in-person and remote). The position includes a cell phone allowance. We are a dynamic and friendly team dedicated to the KidLinks mission.
