Job Summary

Overall responsibility for the overall operations of the Karl Travis Men’s Center including direct supervision of all shelter staff, program enrollments, vocational enrollments, overnight bed assignments, case management, building safety and security, and building cleanliness including bed compliance.  Responsible for operating program in a “housing first” manner to quickly move guests from homelessness into housing.  Responsible for scheduling and filling shifts in the event of call outs.  Responsible for approving suspension requests and participating in reinstatement meetings.  Responsible for ensuring guests are enrolled in program and vocational services; responsible for ensuring collection of Men’s Shelter program fees.  Responsible for ensuring smooth operations of HMIS data entry, intake processes, and overnight sleeping arrangements in the Men’s Shelter.  As a member of management, support administrative leadership team including other Journey Home Program Managers, Directors, Vice Presidents of Programs, Operations, Business and Career Development, Finance, Development, and Human Resources, and the Chief Executive Officer.

 Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in social service or related field required, Master’s degree preferred.

Minimum of two years supervisory experience in residential environment required.

Must have experience with homeless or transient population and/or residential population experiencing substance abuse disorders or mental illness.

Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required.

Valid driver license and proof of liability insurance is required.
