GRAPHIC DESIGNER

POSITION SUMMARY:

KERA seeks a talented and passionate graphic designer with a keen eye for visual storytelling. You are equally comfortable upholding and evolving established brand standards across a diverse family of platforms, including KERA TV, KERA News, KXT, WRR, KERA Kids and KERA Arts.

Your creative energy fuels engaging visuals that capture the essence of each brand while maintaining a cohesive, recognizable identity. You will work collaboratively on a variety of projects for very different target audiences, ranging anywhere from preschool-aged children to mature adults.

This is an FLSA classified exempt position and reports directly to the Creative Director.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

· Design captivating marketing materials, social media graphics, print publications, and digital assets for all KERA brands.

· Collaborate with internal teams to understand project goals and target audiences.

· Interpret brand guidelines and translate them into fresh, innovative designs that resonate with diverse audiences.

· Design for unique events like music festivals and galas, showcasing your adaptability and range.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

· 3+ years of experience as a graphic designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing work for multiple platforms.

· Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

· A love for public media and the ability to translate its values into visuals.

· Strong understanding of branding principles and the ability to maintain brand consistency while remaining innovative.

· Excellent communication and collaboration skills, thriving in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

BONUS IF YOU BRING:

· Experience working with NPR and PBS affiliates.

· Familiarity with the North Texas media landscape.

· Proficiency in motion graphics or video editing software.

· Passion for news, music and event design.

SALARY RANGE

$55,000-$65,000, depending on experience

LOCATION:

We expect that this position will work out of our Dallas office at least 25% of the time.
