Habitat for Humanity of Collin County is a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness worldwide and to making adequate, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and action.

We are looking for a dedicated individual to serve as Full-Time Grants Coordinator, under the direction of the Philanthropy Manager.

Position: Grants Coordinator

Reports to: Philanthropy Manager

Summary: Under the direction of the Philanthropy Manager, the Grants Coordinator is an agency Innovator. He/she has responsibility for agency grant research, writing, reporting, and compliance.

Innovators are independent and impactful decision-makers. They constantly look for ways to improve their primary program, challenge the system with new ideas and never settle for following a well-worn path!

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

He or she must:

 Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent experience

 At least two years of grant writing and researching experience

 Exceptional writing and communication skills

 Strong computer skills to include proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word

 Knowledge and acceptance of the mission of Habitat for Humanity

 Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously

 Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public

Job Conditions

The position is part-time (20 hours a week) and works Monday through Friday. Office hours are flexible. Conditions and benefits are contained in the board-approved Employee Handbook. This position can be a hybrid remote and in-person if desired. One day per week on-site will be necessary for meetings and presentations.

General Responsibilities

1. Provide calm, confident, and positive leadership to the entire organization.

2. Disseminate information readily to stakeholders as appropriate.

3. Submit accurate reports according to deadlines.

4. When confronted with things you question, disagree with, or concern about, speak directly with those involved.

5. Ensure that your area, office, and building are clean, organized, safe, and in compliance with all codes.

6. Comply with grant requirements accordingly.

7. Cross-train with fellow staff to ensure a steady flow of business despite absences.

8. Wholly manage a primary agency program.

9. Routine, independent, subjective and significant decision-making is required.

10. Create and maintain relationships with Habitat for Humanity International and other Habitat affiliates.

11. Independently represents the agency outside of the office/warehouse/store.

Specific Responsibilities:

1. Identify, cultivate and solicit contributions totaling a minimum of $600,000 in cash annually via grants.

2. Research, identify, write, and submit grants and grant reports for operating support, capacity-building opportunities, and other programs/needs as needed.

3. Research, write, and submit all necessary reports and updates for grant compliance.

4. Maintain an ongoing grants calendar and meet all grant deadlines; align detail in grants calendar with Smartsheet and other data recording programs.

5. Maintain and publish all statistical information for the agency for grants and other reporting, such as Habitat for Humanity International.

8. Manage a grant prospect pool to be built through research and analysis of past prospect engagement, grant history, and offering potential.

9. Provide the development department support for special events, special donor recruitment, and direct mail projects.

10. Utilize donor database (NFG) and maintain all grant and prospects records and activities.

11. Other duties as assigned by the Philanthropy Manager or the CEO.

3. Valid Texas driver's license and operational vehicle.
