Based in the rapidly growing North Texas town of Celina, Texas (north Dallas), our community is experiencing explosive growth with new families relocating to Celina every day.  Lifeway Church is energized by this opportunity to serve our dynamic community responding to the needs of both its current residents and becoming the “church of choice” as families move into the area. Our biblical under-pinnings and commitment to achieve excellence as we support the needs of a diverse congregation, will help guide Lifeway’s future direction.  Pivotal to our future, however, and the strategic direction of the Church, must be a vibrant Lifegroup Ministry presence!

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Groups Pastor’s primary responsibility is to oversee the continued development and management of the Groups ministry at Lifeway Church Celina, and to oversee the overall spiritual health of the Groups ministry, through the recruiting and developing of new group leaders, the care and shepherding of existing group leaders, and the formation of new groups within the existing partnership (membership) structure. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, highly relational leader who has a strong sense of ownership over areas of responsibility, a vision for maximizing the Groups experience, as well as a passion for discipling people through biblical community.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in the execution of Lifeway Church Celina’s vision and strategic objectives as a member of the leadership team.
• Cast a compelling vision for the Groups ministry within Lifeway’s assimilation strategy and around the community CORE values of P.L.A.C.E.D.
• Execute the recruiting, training and development, coaching, shepherding, and appreciation of Lifegroup leaders.
• Participate in the partnership stories (testimony) process, with the intention of spiritually guiding, as well as, using the Lifeway partners story to match partners into a Lifegroup.
• Participate in the continued development and teaching of the Lifegroups class in the Lifeway partnership process.
• Execute the formation of new Lifegroups as people complete the Lifeway Partnership process, intentionally placing people into groups where they can thrive spiritually.
• Oversee the spiritual health of Groups ministry and individual Lifegroups using Biblical Community CORE values (P.L.A.C.E.D.) as the standard.
• Execute the annual administration of the Spiritual Health Assessment (SHA) for all Lifegroups, and the compiling of all results.
• Execute the coaching of all Lifegroup Leaders on their groups (SHA) results.
• Visit Lifegroups for observation, mentoring, and relationship building opportunities.
• Oversee the identification and placement of displaced Lifeway Partners that having fallen out of biblical community.
• Execute the creation/writing of the Lifeway Lite sermon-based Groups curriculum weekly.
• Develop a community experience for non-Lifeway partners that helps them grow spiritually, and moves them toward partnership.
• Create fun opportunities for groups to engage with one another a couple times a year.
• Experience 3-5 years’ experience in vocational ministry, preferably in a small group emphasized church, and a proven track record of recruiting, developing, and coaching leaders
• Academic credentials, ideally, include a relevant B.S./B.A. degree or progress towards the completion of undergraduate studies. Ongoing desire to pursue biblical/religious studies and strengthen overall knowledge of God’s Word is essential.
• The ‘bandwidth” to grow as Lifeway Church prospers and to assume more responsible assignments. High energy combined with a servant leadership style, an engaging personality and superb communication skills.
