SUMMARY

Oversees and directs the Supportive Services department including Clinical Services and Crisis Intervention; directly supervises program coordinators; provides oversight for the department budget; maintains and establishes new collaborations and partnerships; and manages the fulfillment of all grant requirements and programmatic expectations of agency stakeholders.   

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

 

Oversees the programs and services of the Supportive Services department including the successful implementation of services.

 

Provides clinical supervision to licensed staff and interns.

 

Ensure clinical services are delivered meeting the standards of the State licensing board and other governing entities.

 

Directly supervises program coordinators; indirectly supervises support staff and direct care staff. Provides regular individual supervision for those directly supervised. Facilitates regular team and department meetings.

 

Responsible for interviewing and hiring qualified staff; training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; providing corrective action as needed, addressing complaints and resolving problems. 

 

Develops and implements training for department staff and volunteers that includes intimate partner violence, trauma informed care, and other proven approaches to equip team members to effectively perform the requirements of their positions and provide quality services.

 

Works collaboratively with other Victim Services directors to ensure seamless delivery of services; collaborating when necessary to ensure the success of the department.

 

Oversees the management of agency volunteers.

 

Cultivates relationships with potential agency partners. Works collaboratively with agency partners to develop referral and other opportunities for shared services to enhance service delivery and program success.

 

Develops and regularly evaluates program policies and procedures to ensure service delivery meets the needs of the community; meets grant and governing authorities’ expectations; and remain efficient and effective.

 

Represents SafeHaven of Tarrant County on community task forces and committees as assigned.

 

Develops and maintains metrics and reporting system for all programs.

 

Evaluates program outcomes and outputs; implements changes as necessary to ensure program is fulfilling requirements.

 

Partners with other departments (accounting, fund development) as needed.

 

OTHER DUTIES

In accordance with the team philosophy of the agency, may routinely be required to carry out or assist with other tasks in addition to the duties listed above.  Act in accordance with the agency's mission statement and goals.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide direct supervision to the Crisis Intervention and Clinical Services Coordinators. Provides indirect supervision to department staff including Crisis Interventionists, Office Manages, Case Managers, Therapists, and Volunteers.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

Master’s Degree in Social Work, or related field, LMSW, LPC required, LCSW preferred.  Minimum 5 years experience in the field of family violence, victim services or related work.  Minimum 3 years supervisory experience required.  Experience with volunteer management required.  Knowledge of crisis intervention, social work theory, professional counseling, and ethics required.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read, and interpret documents such as operating manuals and professional journals.  Ability to write routine reports, correspondence and appropriate notes.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of clients and community members.  Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Current Texas Driver's License and proof of current auto liability insurance required.  Ability to drive day and nighttime hours required.

Frequent exposure to communicable diseases.  Occasional exposure to clients with addiction or psychiatric disorders.

Frequent appearance in public legal facilities such as police departments, court houses, hospitals, clinics and therefore some contact with victims' perpetrators of abuse.
