JOB SUMMARY:

The Director Foundation is one of two generalist positions with the Baylor Scott & White Irving Foundation.  The role is responsible for encouraging large annual cash giving and planned giving.  The Director assists in the strategic decisions supporting the fundraising/development initiatives for the Foundation, with the goal of maximizing philanthropic efforts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/EXPECTATIONS:

  • Manages the processes to secure the following gifts: Large Annual Cash Gifts, Foundation Funding, and Planned Giving.

  • Partners with hospital departments to determine funding priorities as set forth in the hospital approved budget.

  • Participates in hospital manager meetings to establish relationships which will encourage philanthropic support.

  • Supervises the major gifts officers and researcher to identify potential support and manage the planning of solicitations of donors, potential donors and foundations.

  • Develops steering committees comprised of major donors, community leaders, volunteers and providers to achieve project goals.

  • Creates marketing materials which encourage donor support and manages direct mail programs to attract and retain major accounts.

  • Collaborates with various cross-functional departments to develop website and printed material.

  • Major, planned and blended gift solicitation

  • Event coordination (both our signature gala annually and all third-party fundraising-event liaison--e.g., fundraising done by Four Seasons Resort and Club annually for cancer-care efforts in Irving)

  • Employee giving campaign coordination for Irving campus and assigned HTPN sites in our Irving foundation zone

  • Additional responsibilities: Website management; North Texas Giving Day program management; Irving Rotary Club membership, which is important to the Irving community (attendance and solicitation of club funds)

  • Performs other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

- Bachelor Degree plus 7 years of experience in a role with similar responsibilities.

The ideal candidate would also bring experience in grant writing, and proven experience in annual giving, donor acquisition and donor retention. CFRE, ACFRE, and/or FAHP highly desired.
