KERA, the public broadcasting organization for North Texas is hiring a creative and innovative Donor Acquisition Director to serve on KERA’s Development Team. This person will lead a comprehensive digital fundraising strategy to grow membership and revenue.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE:

The Digital Acquisition Manager will lead a digital fundraising team of staff and vendors.  The role will oversee Fundraising Search Engine Optimization/Marketing, Email, Website Promotions, Passport Conversion, Crypto Currency, NFTs, and other digital fundraising efforts.

 

The Manager will work closely with vendors and KERA staff to design strategy and conceptualize fresh, integrated year-round campaigns including, but not limited to, Renewals, Sustainer Conversion, Acquisition, Vehicle Donations, Sustainers, Passport, Matching Gifts, Major Gifts, Planned Giving, Stewardship Journey, North Texas Giving Day, Raffles, Calendar Year End, Podcasts, and Member Benefits.

 

This position is classified as FLSA exempt, is not eligible for overtime, and reports directly to the Director, Development Operations.

 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Collaborate with key staff on data analysis to design campaign strategy.
  • Leverage technologies to acquire new members, particularly among new, young and diverse audiences (listeners, viewers, streamers, subscribers and fans).
  • Create tests, plan logistics and assets, and track metrics to grow member file and revenue.
  • Coordinate customized online donation forms, A/B tests, SEO, CRM tools.
  • Collaborate nationally with NPR and PBS to stay in tune with best practices, national benchmarking data and webinars (Greater Public, Trac Media, NPR Studio, PBS Hub, etc.).
  • Network with other nonprofits and public media stations to remain well-informed on the latest trends in digital fundraising, deliverability, and online storytelling.
  • Create and manage year-round digital fundraising calendar, timelines and project plans.
  • Integrate digital opportunities within On Air Fundraising campaigns and Social Media.
  • Provide regular updates about campaign performance and write a full review of each major campaign to shape future planning.

  • Preferably 5+ years of digital fundraising experience
  • Experience in managing a team in the execution of multi-platform digital strategies.
  • A team player that is detail-oriented, organized, motivated and innovative.
  • Enthusiasm for public media with ability to write compelling donor-centered case messages.
  • Ability to analyze fundraising results and amend strategies/plans based on findings.
  • Desire to support and promote an inclusive work environment and cultivate strong, productive relationships across internal KERA departments.
  • Ability to reprioritize projects quickly based on changing needs and new opportunities.
  • A curious mind and natural desire to develop, test and evaluate new strategies is essential.

 

BONUS IF YOU BRING

  • Passion for working for a mission-based company
  • Public media fundraising experience
  • Experience with Tessitura CRM or other comparable fundraising CRM products.

 

 

SALARY RANGE

  • $63,000-73,000 annually depending on experience

LOCATION:

We expect this position to work out of our Dallas office at least 50% of the time.
