OUR MISSION
The Family Place empowers survivors of family violence by providing safe housing, counseling, and skills that create independence while building community engagement and advocating for social change to stop family violence.
The Family Place is seeking a Development Associate to support our Development Office in strengthening donor relationships and corporate partnerships. This adaptable role will require a blend of partnership management, marketing strategy, and project management. The Associate will work with multiple teams within Development and will own key elements of The Family Place’s fundraising initiatives exclusively. The Associate will have the opportunity to demonstrate creativity, grow skills, and increase levels of responsibilities. Passion for serving our clients and community is critical to success in this role.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with corporate partners, retailers, and community donors, supporting efforts to increase engagement and contributions.
- Assist with donor correspondence, direct mail appeals, and preparing materials for meetings and events.
- Support year-end appeals, impact reports, and outreach efforts. Assist with planning and executing special events, including coordinating logistics, developing materials, and providing on-site support.
- Conduct research on prospective corporate retail partnerships, identifying potential collaborations for fundraising and community engagement.
- Maintain accurate records of donor interactions in Raiser’s Edge NXT and generate reports to track engagement trends and outcomes.
- Assist the Major Gifts team with donor portfolio management, communications, and follow-ups to cultivate high-level relationships.
- Coordinate select marketing activities, including donor communications and social media updates aligned with campaign goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
- 2-4 years in nonprofit development or donor relations, with experience in corporate partnerships or fundraising preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with database management, preferably Raiser’s Edge NXT.
- Strong communication, organization, and relationship-building abilities; a team player committed to donor engagement.
- Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and adjust to project needs.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid Texas Driver’s License and a clear driving record.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong donor relationships.
- Goal-oriented and high sense of urgency
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; keen attention to detail.
- Able to work under pressure, managing multiple projects.
- Proficient in marketing communication basics, including social media .
- Able to represent the organization with professionalism and cultural sensitivity.
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Light lifting and carrying (less than 25 lbs.).
- Ability to work in varied settings, including off-site meetings as needed.
- Flexibility and resilience to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
