Founded in 1962, Fort Worth Country Day is an independent, coeducational, nondenominational college-preparatory day school located in Southwest Fort Worth. Position Description

The role of the communications team at Fort Worth Country Day is to develop and implement effective communications that support and advance the mission of the school. The FWCD story is told through various mediums, including, but not limited to eNewsletters, a biannual magazine, social media, website, videography, photography, and more. As part of this team, the Communications Specialist will support the Communications and Constituent Relations Manager in being proactive in the planning, creating, and editing of stories and other publications for use in the various mediums. The Communications Specialist is also a collaborative, skilled, dynamic self-starter with a positive can-do attitude, as well as a communicator who can meet deadlines with demonstrated excellent communication skills in written, oral and digital formats.

Working within the Advancement Department and reporting directly to the Communications and Constituent Relations Manager, this is a full-time, year-round, exempt position.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Write and produce weekly FWCD Update eNewsletter; coordinate with Division Administrative Assistants for Division News
  • Write and produce quarterly Keeping You Connected eNewsletter for FWCD non-campus community
  • Attend JK-12 events and write stories, create videos, craft social media posts for inclusion in FWCD communications
  • Create and edit video content for social media, web, digital marketing, etc.
  • Write/edit/proofread FWCD communications, including articles, web copy, press releases, brochures, invitations, programs, as assigned
  • Shoot/edit short video snippets for social media
  • Manage Fine Arts production/show programs with Director of Fine Arts and work with Graphic Designer to complete
  • Assist advancement team with special events throughout the year as decided, including lifting, walking, moving materials, attending events to cover as stories, etc.
  • Social media management and planning (FWCD Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Tik Tok)
    • Facilitate video creation and photography
    • Review analytics and create reports on key metrics.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in communications, marketing, public relations or related field
  • Proficiency in AP Style and written communications
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and graphic design
