Jonathan’s Place is accepting applications for a full-time Clinical Director. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, coordinating, and implementing agency-wide initiatives to ensure that high-quality clinical interventions and services are being provided to all children across programs. The Clinical Director provides clinical leadership, consultation and supervision to staff and therapists working with agency children; and works to ensure compliance with agency contracts and stakeholders.  This position also assists with developing and implementing policies and procedures; and provides emergency response/crisis intervention for high risk cases. Position requires flexible schedule (evening and weekend hours as required). Candidates must have excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

(1) Be a licensed clinical social worker, a licensed professional counselor, or a licensed marriage and family therapist, and have three years of experience providing treatment services for children with an emotional disorder, including one year in a residential setting; OR

(2) Be a psychiatrist or psychologist and have a master’s degree in a human services field from an accredited college or university and three years of experience providing treatment services for children with an emotional disorder, including one year in a residential setting.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to accommodate agency needs.
  • Must have current driver’s license, reliable transportation and current insurance
  • Maintain a working telephone or other reliable means of communication
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check
  • Ability to engage and effectively communicate with persons from diverse cultures and communities, as well as from different groups, including children, their parents, agency colleagues, Foster/Adoptive parent(s), CPS staff, support staff members, supervisors, administrators, and persons from the legal and judicial system.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Knowledge and use of a conceptual framework for child and adolescent development, emotional and behavior problems, parenting, crisis intervention, and a range of treatment modalities.
  • Knowledge of a variety of theories, principles, and concepts for therapeutic practice with individuals and families, including well developed diagnostic, assessment, and treatment planning skills.
  • Working Knowledge of DFPS Minimum Standards
  • Skills in organizing work in a responsible way within an environment with multiple challenges, priorities and time frames
  • Ability to identify and plan long and short-term goals
  • Demonstrate knowledge of computer programs and databases including:  Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and Publisher), Internet Explorer, and Kaleidacare.
  • Ability to speak with self-confidence and produce professional correspondence and presentations
  • Ability to work as a team player and work effectively with others
