Description
Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County (UGM-TC) has an immediate opening for a Child Enrichment Clinical Therapist position. The Clinical Therapist provides Clinical Counseling and afterschool academic support to children and youth between 5 and 18 years. Completes trauma symptom and developmental admission screenings and assessments. Compiles information into trauma informed, strength-based, psychosocial assessments. Develop and implement safety plans, conducting ongoing review and updates.
Provides trauma informed individual clinical counseling. Leads trauma informed therapy and psychoeducational groups. Participates in Multidisciplinary Team Meetings. Performs Development Reading Assessments and informal testing/assessments to determine reading skill level. Maintains student testing data and disseminate as needed to appropriate individuals and agencies. Monitors progress of individualized lesson plans to ensure goals are being met. Develops behavioral plans as deemed appropriate throughout the course of service provision. Support cross-collaboration with external programs and services to ensure children and youth are appropriately referred and linked to need driven early intervention services.
A master’s degree from an accredited university or college with a major in counseling, social work, or psychology; and one of the following clinical licensures: LCSW, LMFT, LMFT-Associate, LPC, LPC-Intern licensure with at least 2 years of experience providing clinical counseling to children. Additionally, qualified candidates will:
- Build safe, trusting relationships with children, youth, and their parents; exercise appropriate boundaries. Demonstrate understanding and compassion for the priority population.
Proven ability to perform under pressure; conduct need assessments and evaluate for appropriateness of services; and apply sound clinical insight. - Demonstrate knowledge and experience in evidenced-based, trauma-informed clinical modalities and interventions, including TBRI and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
- Knowledgeable of issues clients face such as victimization, poverty, chronic health conditions, substance use/abuse, and intimate partner violence.
- Work independently with minimum supervision and maximum accountability. Build and maintain relationships with parents as well as internal and external partners.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational skills. Flexible, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with all levels of management, staff, and children and families served.
