Chief Financial Officer

Overview:

The Chief Financial Officer reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for all areas of accounting, finance, insurance, payroll and human resources.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • College degree required (BBA, major in accounting)
  • C.P.A. certification desired
  • Knowledge or experience in non-profit accounting
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting in both non-profit and corporate environments
  • Desired knowledge of non-profit tax issues including 990

 

Job Skills Required:

  • Knowledge of GAAP standardized accounting methodologies
  • Knowledge of cash management
  • Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Skill in creating meaningful financial reports, including development of the annual budget
  • Experience with preparation for non-profit single audit
  • Knowledge of payroll, HR and benefits
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and lead in a team environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong strategic planning skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate financial information to non-inancial personnel
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of daily accounting functions including proper recording of receipts and disbursements as well as bank reconciliations
  • Develop CACCC annual budget
  • Prepare monthly financial statements to be presented to the Board
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for the Departments
  • Directly supervise 3 staff:  Grants Accountant, Senior Accountant, and Accounts Payable Manager
  • Responsible of oversight of benefit plans, including but not limited to group medical, flex plan, 401k, life insurance
  • Responsible for oversight of property, casualty and D & O insurance
  • Coordination with grant personnel in preparation of monthly and quarterly grant reports for reimbursement
  • Maintain records of all contributions, both cash and in-kind
  • Responsible for compliance in filing of all employment related tax returns
  • Oversight and preparation of annual audit schedules
  • Oversight of all payroll processes
  • Review and update of Human Resources policies as applicable
  • Serve on Finance, Audit and Investment Board Committees
  • Assist in development of CACCC strategic plan
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

The Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County seeks a dynamic leader as Chief Financial Officer.  The mission of the Center is to provide safety, healing, and justice for children victimized by abuse or neglect.  Reporting directly to the CEO, the Chief Financial Officer is responsible for oversight of daily accounting functions; preparation of the annual budget, audit, and 990; and oversight of payroll, HR and benefit plans. Supervises a finance team of three.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 5 years experience in accounting in non-profit and corporate environments.  Knowledge of GAAP standardized accounting methodologies and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and QuickBooks is required. CPA certification is a plus.
