United to Learn’s Chief Advancement Officer is a critical member of the Senior Leadership Team providing strategic leadership to the organization, and is seen as the lead advancement representative in the community, cultivating the resources that enable U2L to deliver its vision and mission. The position has frequent interaction with all U2L stakeholders including board members, advisory council members, investors, private institutions, public school partners, and agency vendors.

The Chief Advancement Officer reports to the CEO and has management responsibility for both full and part-time staff including Director of Corporate Relations, Director of Stewardship and Advancement Manager.

Responsibilities include:
● Create vision and strategy for all advancement efforts leveraging the capabilities and networks of the CEO, Advancement Committee to the Board and other fundraising volunteer leaders
● Oversee and inspire the continued development and execution of current strategic plan, securing significant capital according to key fundraising metrics
● Lead efforts cultivating and soliciting major gifts from individuals, corporations, and foundations
● Identify and steward major investors to strengthen United to Learn’s donor base, managing a personal portfolio of donors, as well as supporting leadership and staff to manage a broader donor portfolio
● Oversee and collaborate with staff to execute fundraising events, recognition, gift processing, and acknowledgment programs
● Ability to nimbly flex functional skills from strategic planning to execution
● Contribute Advancement expertise to cross-organizational strategy; align delivery of functional area to integrate with organizational strategy and initiatives
