Overview

The mission of Jubilee Park & Community Center (Jubilee) is to be a catalyst for community revitalization and enrichment in the Southeast Dallas/Fair Park neighborhood. The agency provides free multi-generational services to families living in the 62-block neighborhood of Jubilee Park and surrounding areas, a part of Dallas, which has long been under-resourced. Founded in 1997, Jubilee has grown into a campus, which includes a community center, resource center, Head Start facility, Early Head Start facility, senior housing complex, food pantry, a Clinic, and a 3-acre park.

Jubilee has also worked closely with residents to identify five key pillars that in form our work and reflect the community's greatest challenges and opportunities. Those pillars are Safety, Health, Housing, Education/Workforce, and Opportunity.

The Assistant Education Manager is a full-time exempt position, responsible for helping the Education Manager lead the day-to-day operations of Jubilee’s Out of School Time (OST) programming. OST programming consists of afterschool programming across multiple sites, summer camps, teen programming, and Jubilee’s Specialized Student Support (S3) program, which serves youth with learning differences. This role will require work time outside traditional hours for events, etc. This position requires excellent relationship building and collaboration skills, superb organizational skills with attention to detail, the ability to juggle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously, and a commitment to the mission and culture of Jubilee Park. This individual will aid in the supervision of Jubilee’s OST programing, which currently consists afterschool program during the school year and an 8-week full day summer camp. This position will report directly the Education Manager.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist the Education Manager in organizing, planning, and implementing Jubilee’s Education strategy to develop and nurture students in K-12 programming that shrinks the opportunity gap in the Jubilee Park neighborhood, while increasing student success and organizational impact.

Assist in coordinating the day-to-day operations of programming at both the Jubilee Park campus and at Oran M. Roberts Elementary School afterschool program sites.

Ensure both Jubilee and OST program guidelines are followed and expectations are met. Develop and monitor Teen Program growth and activities, working along Teen Teachers to assure quality programming.

Ensure quality data collection and entry in partnership with the Evaluation and Impact Manger to quantify all the OST Team’s efforts and impact.

Engage community members in our work to create positive change within and around the Jubilee Park neighborhood through events and opportunities including, but not limited to, community block walks, National Night Out, Back to School Bash, etc.

Participate in professional development, training activities, and staff meetings. Other duties as assigned by Education Manager.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in education, or another discipline with commensurate experience preferred
4+ years in youth programming and/or OST setting. Previous leadership experience strongly preferred
Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with Jubilee staff across the organization, community coalitions and taskforces, nonprofit partners, parents and community leaders among others
Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly with excellent attention to detail
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Experience working with diverse populations and ability to communicate effectively and demonstrate sensitivity to others
Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Conduct oneself in a professional manner/demeanor
