Job Summary: Reporting to the Program Manager, the Assessor & Trainer Specialist is responsible for
assessing child development centers for quality based on best practices and industry standards. The
Assessor & Trainer Specialist also creates informative action plans and provides agency-approved
professional development courses to EFS staff, partner centers, and external community members
based on determined needs.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Position Duties & Responsibilities:
• Ensures all agency-partnered centers receive EFS-approved, high-quality assessments.
• Maintains communication with center staff to ensure timely assessment and appropriate follow-up.
• Works with specialists to design action plans for centers based on assessment findings.
• Performs mock assessments for centers preparing for accreditation.
• Enters data collected into agency’s client database in an accurate and timely manner.
• Designs, implements, and delivers professional development courses that support high-quality early
child development opportunities for all children.
• Utilizes technology to host professional development courses on multiple platforms for onsite and
remote learning.
• Employs a variety of teaching methodologies to ensure information shared is understood and
implemented.
• Conducts assessments of own professional development courses to ensure quality instruction.
• Trains employees in the assessment process and center staff on assessment results.
• Prepares reports on assessment findings as directed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Abilities:
• Currently has or is willing to quickly acquire CLASS Certifications (Infant/Toddler, PreK-3rd, and Environments).
• Has strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Interacts and communicates effectively with people from various backgrounds and experiences.
• Is self-directed and works independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Is technologically proficient in online instruction and remote work.
• Is highly proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Possesses efficient organizational and time management skills.
• Works in a team environment, is mission-focused and detail-oriented.
• Has sound judgement and can resolve issues with available resources.

Required Education & Knowledge:
• Minimum of an Associate degree.
• CLASS certification.
• Two years of experience in an early learning environment or in a professional training for adult
learners’ role.
• Knowledge of national accreditation processes.
Preferred Education & Knowledge:
• Bachelor’s Degree in education, communication, or related field of study.
• National Accreditation Commission for Early Care and Education Programs Validator.

Additional Requirements:
• Has a valid Texas driver's license and proof of current auto insurance.
• Passes an agency-administered, comprehensive background check satisfactorily.
• Is able to speak, read, and write English well.
• Has access to reliable transportation to travel throughout the metroplex.
• Is able to work occasional evening and weekend hours.

Working Conditions: This position may include prolonged periods of sitting and working at a computer,
as well as long periods of standing to provide instruction. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
