PR & Strategic Communications 101

Join CNM for this class to learn the difference between Public Relations and Strategic Communication, and how to effectively utilize these tools to effectively promote your organization and its mission.

This course will help you understand the different functions of public relations and communications and will discuss the various types of media, provide examples of each type, and will show you when and how to deploy the appropriate tactics.  You will also begin to develop an outreach plan to effectively reach your different target audiences.

Program Level: Novice to mid-level marketing experience
Prerequisites: None
Instructional Method: Online via Zoom
Social Worker CEU Credits: 2 hours

Megan spent many years living and working in Los Angeles, leading integrated marketing operations and strategic communications across 5 continents in global companies like Warner Bros. Entertainment and Activision Blizzard. Foundational roles include marketing communications, fundraising, and event oversight at The CNM Dallas, UNT Health Science Center, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Megan holds an undergraduate degree from TCU and an MBA from the USC Marshall School of Business.
