Pet Partners mission is to improve human health and well-being through the human-animal bond. At Pet Partners, we believe that the human-animal bond is a mutually beneficial and dynamic relationship between people and animals that positively influences the health and well-being of both. We are motivated by connection, compassion, and a commitment to sharing this meaningful bond with everyone who can benefit from time spent with an animal.

More than forty years since the organization’s inception, the science that proves these benefits has become indisputable. Today, Pet Partners is the nation’s largest and most prestigious nonprofit registering handlers of multiple species as volunteer therapy animal teams providing animal-assisted interventions (AAI). Pet Partners Therapy Animal Program represents the best that the field of AAI has to offer. Thousands of registered Pet Partners teams interact with a wide variety of clients, making make more than 3 million visits per year in hospitals, nursing homes, schools, libraries, airports and at employee wellness events. Pet Partners also advocates for legislation that promotes human health and well-being through its grassroots advocacy program and educates handlers and the public about the positive impact of AAI.
