Our Community, Our Kids (OCOK), a division of ACH Child and Family Services, believes that abused and neglected children who live in our community belong in our community. OCOK oversees foster care services in Texas Region 3b -- Erath, Hood, Johnson, Palo Pinto, Parker, Somervell, and Tarrant Counties.

OCOK was established in 2014 as the Single Source Continuum Contractor (SSCC) for Region 3b. In 2015, OCOK assumed full responsibility for the region’s foster care system, managing the full range of resources provided to children in foster care.

In March 2019, OCOK contracted with the Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) to implement a Community-Based Care (CBC) approach to CPS conservatorship work in North Texas. CBC is a new way of providing foster care services. It gives local communities the flexibility and authority to improve the system.

As a non-profit organization, OCOK brings creative and robust solutions that engage community partners as they address some of the age-old issues plaguing the foster care system. In contract with the DFPS, Our Community Our Kids believes innovative staff members are our most precious resource as we build a new approach to developing strong and stable permanent families for children in our care.
