Heart House serves children from various backgrounds and ethnicities that reflect the Vickery Meadow community. Many of Vickery Meadow’s 53,000 residents are immigrants and refugees. Of that population 5,303 are under the age of six, and 3,932 are between the ages of six and thirteen.  Heart House provides a safe place where students from Kindergarten through 8th grade can receive homework help, STEAM lessons, reading and vocabulary support.  The holistic mental and behavioral health model meets kids where they are, taking into account their background and current emotional state. This social-emotional learning approach has been proven to increase academic performance, improve mental health, and establish a pathway to success for each child—in school and in life.
