Company Information

Communities In Schools of Greater Tarrant County is part of a national dropout prevention network. With over 200 affiliates nationwide, Communities In Schools is helping 1.3 million students stay in school and achieve in life.

Communities In Schools was brought to Tarrant County in 1992 by a local task force who saw a need for an effective and efficient stay-in-school program. Over the past 26 years, we've grown from serving 2 Fort Worth high schools, to providing intensive, on-site case management in 53 schools across 8 Tarrant County school districts, serving over 35,000 students.

CIS partners with local school districts to place full-time licensed social workers directly onto school campuses, to provide intensive case management for at-risk students. We go behind the scenes to assess the needs of students and their families, and provide integrated, wrap-around supportive services to address the barriers students face, to ensure they remain in school and on the path toward academic success.
