The Family Place empowers survivors of family violence by providing safe housing, counseling, and skills that create independence while building community engagement and advocating for social change to stop family violence.
Summary:
The Family Place is seeking a skilled and passionate Grants Writing Manager to lead the full lifecycle of grant development and submission for both government and private grants. This position plays a critical role in securing funding that supports our mission to provide essential services to victims of domestic violence. The Grants Writing Manager will work closely with the finance, development, and program teams to identify funding opportunities, craft compelling proposals, and ensure timely submissions. This role will also involve ongoing communication with funders and collaboration across departments to ensure alignment with organizational goals and funding priorities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Research and identify funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other potential sources that align with The Family Place's mission.
- Write compelling grant proposals and reports that effectively communicate the organization’s programs and impact, tailored to specific funder guidelines and priorities.
- Collaborate with program directors and staff to gather relevant information and data for grant proposals.
- Oversee the entire grant writing process, ensuring proposals are completed on time and meet high-quality standards.
- Maintain strong relationships with current and potential funders through regular communication and updates on programs and outcomes.
- Monitor grant timelines and deliverables, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and coordinating with internal teams as needed.
- Prepare and present grant-related materials for board meetings and fundraising events.
- Track and analyze funding trends, and the outcomes of submitted grants to continuously improve the effectiveness of grant submissions.
- Prepare and submit progress reports to funders, ensuring all deadlines are met.
- Stay updated on best practices in grant writing and non-profit funding trends to ensure ongoing success.
- Develop training materials and conduct workshops for staff on grant writing strategies and effective funding practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Non-Profit Management, Communications, English, or a related field; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in grant writing and management, preferably in a non-profit setting.
- Proven track record of successful grant applications and securing funding.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Proficiency in grant management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid and clear Texas Drivers License
Working Conditions:
- Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as needed.
- This position requires occasional local travel using a personal automobile.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds, with frequent standing, reaching, walking, and prolonged sitting and telephone contact.
