Overview:
Straydog, Inc. (www.straydog.org) is seeking a motivated and organized Part-Time Contract Development Associate to join our team. This role will be primarily responsible for managing fundraising events, securing corporate partnerships and sponsors, and expanding our individual donor base. The Development Associate will play a key role in ensuring the success of Straydog’s development initiatives and will be instrumental in helping us reach our fundraising goals.
About Straydog, Inc.:
Straydog, established in 1994, is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming homeless and abandoned dogs in a no-kill environment. Our mission is to provide a loving sanctuary for dogs until they find their forever homes, and we remain committed to helping dogs who are never adopted.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Expand Individual Donor Base: Assist in growing Straydog’s individual donor base through research, outreach, and cultivation. Help develop and implement strategies to engage new donors and retain existing supporters.
- Event Management: Plan and execute key fundraising events, including but not limited to the annual Golf Tournament, Gala, and other special events, ensuring all logistics, promotion, and day-of coordination are seamless.
- Corporate Partnerships & Sponsorships: Identify, cultivate, and secure corporate partners and sponsorships for Straydog events and programs. Develop sponsorship packages and actively seek new partnerships to support the organization’s financial needs.
- Donor Stewardship & Relations: Support the Director of Development in managing relationships with individual and corporate donors, ensuring effective communication and acknowledgment of their contributions.
- Content Creation: Contribute to the creation of event marketing materials, social media posts, newsletters, and other communications to promote events, campaigns, and fundraising efforts.
- Data Management: Help maintain and track donor information using the donor management system, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience in event management and/or fundraising in a non-profit setting is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience securing corporate sponsorships and cultivating donor relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with social media platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and donor management systems (experience with Network for Good is a plus).
- Self-motivated, proactive, and passionate about animal rescue and the mission of Straydog.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with the development team.
Work Schedule:
This is a part-time, contract position, with flexibility in hours. The role may require occasional evening or weekend work related to events or donor outreach.
Compensation:
Compensation for this position is negotiable based on experience.
