Manager of Student Success

 

Under the administrative direction of the Executive Director, this position provides leadership for providing programs and services that increase student retention, persistence, and completion. The position establishes and reviews internal policies and procedures as it relates to student success and ensures compliance with the Hendrick mission.

Job Duties:

  • Responsible for the research, development, and assessment of wrap around scholar support services.
  • Strategically monitor and provide regular reporting of student retention and graduation rates.
  • Collaborate with Plano ISD, local businesses, donors, and other volunteers.
  • Provides guidance and support to the Student Success Committee.  Works closely with committee chair to recruit committee members, coordinate their efforts and plan monthly committee meetings to advance the committee functions.
  • Develop and maintaining effective communication with all scholars, volunteers, staff, and board members.
  • Represent and advocate on behalf of students throughout the college and university communities.
  • Responsible for the preparation and communication of Hendrick policies and procedures to students, families, volunteers, and the general public.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff, volunteers, and board of directors to actively seek solutions for student-focused issues.
  • Prepare and facilitate workshops on a variety of student success related topics.
  • Assist with the development of strategic direction and set priorities for retention and completion efforts in accordance with the foundation’s goals and changing student needs.
  • Assists in the development of short and long-range plans and goals for historically underrepresented students; modifies and/or revises policies and procedures as needed to ensure on-going compliance with the Hendrick mission.
  • Coordinates, develops, and implements programs for Hendrick scholars designed to deliver quality services in an efficient manner, to include but not limited to: student workshops, informational meetings, probation and intervention communication, undeclared major career counseling and other related events and services.
  • Develops, collects, and analyzes student data pertinent to ensure successful programing and support.
  • In collaboration with other stakeholders, provides leadership to deliver effective and innovative services and activities to improve student success, goal attainment, and/or degree completion.
  • Attends and participates in professional development; maintains awareness of new trends and developments regarding higher education and other scholarship initiatives.
  • Oversees the administration and disbursement of scholarship awards.
  • Oversees the implementation and maintenance of the Hendrick Scholarship application and student management software.
  • Prepares scholarship application process for students and coordinates scholarship application reading and scoring.
  • Collects and analyzes scholarship data relative to scholarship awarding. Develops, recommends, and assists with implementation of processes, policies, and procedures to enhance scholarship awarding to maximize enrollment objectives and improve awarding processes.
  • Works with the marketing and communications committee to improve student access to the Hendrick scholarship through webpages, social media, and other marketing tools.
  • Implements, coordinates, directs, and maintains the scholarship program, including preparation of new scholarship agreements, maintenance and monitoring of existing scholarship agreements, and maintaining regular contact with volunteers and students.
  • Assists in the coordination of other foundation special events such as the Holiday Luncheon, Graduation Celebration, annual fundraiser, and other events as planned.
