Description

Despite the increasing awareness of the importance of social determinants, few community-based organizations (CBOs) have adequate contextualized insights to better address interrelated, cross cutting, and connected needs. Contextualization is crucial in transforming available data into real and meaningful information—information that can be used as actionable insights to inform and prioritize programs, investments, and policies.

But simply providing CBOs access to data is not sufficient for the contextualization required to inform programming and drive sustainable progress. And building individual organizational capacity alone will not drive large scale impact.

We believe that when CBOs are equipped to work together collectively, developing both shared outcomes and organization level outcomes along with the acumen to use data to inform, guide, and measure their work, we will see greater impact than with individual organizations working separately.

The Aspire United Data Capacity Building Initiative (DCBI) will bring UWMD Impact Partners together in learning cohorts to leverage UWMD’s deep partnerships with over 200 CBOs with the aim to equip them to use the CVC data to help analyze challenges in their communities and develop multi-faceted and sustainable progress through collaboration and capacity building.
Such transformation requires intensive and extensive engagement and capacity building, which is the core of the DCBI.

The DCBI will:
•Strengthen CBO’s ability to use data to target high-need and priority interventions, utilizing the CVC to identify areas highest vulnerability within their own communities.
•Incorporate CBO’s knowledge, experience and understanding of their own communities to help guide CVC informed programs and actions.
•Build CBO’s capacity to measure program performance, resulting in better data collection, refined services and improved operations in high vulnerability communities.
•Leverage and strengthen relationships amongst our CBOs serving in the same geographies to build a common community/census tract level goal and organizational goals that will support the attainment of the shared goal.

The Senior Director - DCBI will report to and work closely with the Chief Strategy & Impact Officer to develop and implement this new initiative, in coordination with the Parkland Center for Clinical Innovation (PCCI). The position will be a member of the Community Impact Leadership Team and will engage all Community Impact leaders and their teams in the design and implementation of the Initiative, ensuring clear understanding and support across the Department. This will require a demonstrated knowledge, experience, and expertise in data analysis and program evaluation.

The Senior Director - DCBI will also work closely with Community Impact partners and grantees, identifying and recommending organizations to participate in the DCBI. The position will manage relationships with DCBI participants, maintaining close contact with each partner, providing support and resources needed to successfully complete the program. The position will also entail managing operational details for the DCBI, including scheduling, preparation and other logistics for training sessions and will serve as part of the DCBI training team.

The ideal candidate will have strong program management competencies, relational skills, a growth and learning mindset, a clear focus on details and logistics, and the ability to manage multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously. The best candidate will also have a strong understanding of and solid relationships with North Texas CBOs and other community partners and the demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a broad spectrum of stakeholders to coordinated impact toward shared community goals.

In addition to working directly with UWMD Community Partners, the Senior Director DCBI will interact with DCBI funders and prospects as a UWMD lead DCBI/CVC content expert, requiring deep understanding, and excellent communication, presentation and relationship management skills.
