The Dallas Children's Advocacy Center is seeking an experienced Development Officer for our Advancement Team. The Development Officer at Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC) will be responsible for the development and implementation of DCAC’s event-based fundraising efforts and in-kind donations, focused on creating meaningful and impactful engagement opportunities for new and existing donors throughout the year. The Development Officer will execute event fundraising strategies to achieve goals – including signature events, patron events, third party events, in-kind donations and other special projects.

ABOUT DCAC: The mission of the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center is to improve the lives of abused children in Dallas County and to provide national leadership on child abuse issues. DCAC is a non-profit organization and the only agency of its kind in Dallas County, working in agreement with public and private agencies to investigate, prosecute, and provide healing services for child abuse cases in Dallas County.

We reduce the victimization of the child, remove barriers to investigation and treatment, and enhance criminal prosecution with our distinctive multidisciplinary and united approach to these complex and severe cases, all at no cost to our clients. Each year, DCAC serves over 13,000 children and their non-offending family members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serves as event champion for Aim for Advocacy, Mahjong for a Mission and provides assistance to the Director of Events and Corporate Partnerships on Art for Advocacy, working collaboratively with advancement colleagues to raise critical funds to meet agency fundraising goals.
    • Aim for Advocacy net goal is $325,000
    • Mahjong for a Mission net goal is $50,000
    • Art for Advocacy assistance; helps steward the artist process including helping with preparation for Curatorial Committee meetings, sending submission details and reminders, and tracking event attendance of artists. Art for Advocacy auction goal is $500,000 between live and silent auction items.

Education and Experience:  Four-year bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred, but not required. Demonstrated experience in high-level events, managing relationships and soliciting donors for support with at least 2-3 years of fundraising experience or equivalent experience.
