Job Summary:
Managed the prospecting, cultivating, and solicitating process of assigned Major Gift Phase campaign donor portfolios and for implementing the stewardship activities with One Army, Many Fronts Campaign donors. The Campaign Major Gifts Manager is a member of the campaign team, joining with the Senior Director, Officers, Staff, and Volunteers to build relationships with high-level prospects and donors to manage and implement revenue tactics and activities to achieve the comprehensive campaign plan and fundraising goal.

Cultivation, Solicitation, and Stewardship of Donors (70%)
Actively participate in Campaign Major Gift Phase activities.
Help facilitate the identification of new prospects and the management of major gift prospects in staff, volunteer, and consultant prospect portfolios.
Drive staff donor prospecting activity, implementing actions as assigned and completing and cultivating, preparing solicitation and proposals, and following up.
Develop effective outreach activities to ensure, foster, and nurture productive campaign relationships with these key individuals.
Align donor interests with campaign projects, coordinate research and solicitation requests based on a donor’s particular area of giving or interest.
Coordinate donor stewardship with Donor Services and Campaign teams to appropriately thank in a timely and meaningful way, correlated to their giving interest.
Help Campaign team implement targeted stewardship reports to educate, engage, inspire, and thank top donors for their generosity.
Fundraising and Activation Responsibilities (20%)
Actively participate in campaign, staff, and volunteer donor prospecting meetings, including the initial creation of portfolio, documentation of donor actions assigned and completed, and cultivation plans for donors managed.
Create targeted strategies and drive event participation to cultivate potential donors, assign donors, and support others as needed to foster and nurture productive relationships with these key individuals.
Contribute to campaign communications via donor stories, testimonials, and content creation.
Work collaboratively with the Campaign Coordinator to manage campaign-related gift solicitation tracking, gift processing, gift acknowledgements, and any other related processes to assigned portfolio.
Support outreach to Advisory committees to advance campaign engagement.
Planning Activities (5%)
Participate in campaign planning meetings.
Assist with and participate in prospect planning meetings. Develop written prospect action plans.
Contribute to and help implement campaign planning activities (including contributing to cultivation event planning, campaign communications planning, committee meeting planning, and stewardship planning).
Participate in assigned Community Relations planning and meetings.
Liaison Responsibilities (5%)
Direct interface with Campaign team. Participate in Major Gift Committee activities.
Participate in Community Relations department meetings.
Other Responsibilities:
Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of effective and efficient methods for organizing and maintaining records, and the ability to perform the same.
Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of fundraising management.
Knowledge of the principles and practices of individual gifts, major gifts, and corporate gift administration. Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws governing fundraising and taxation.
Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate meetings and special events related to fundraising and public relations with specialization on individual fundraising.
Ability to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate various fundraising strategies to determine their effectiveness in achieving short- and long-range goals.
Ability to maintain the confidentiality and accountability of donor information and adhere to promises for donated funds and/or assets.
Ability to exhibit and participate in collaborative teamwork for fundraising.
Ability to lead, motivate, monitor, and provide accountability for activity of assigned prospects, while bringing others along to collaborate (employees and volunteers) to successful cultivation and solicitation.
Ability to prepare and maintain reports in an accurate, complete, and timely manner. Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with Salvation Army officers, employees, volunteers, and consultants.
Ability to present a positive and professional image of The Salvation Army.
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, marketing, communication, or related field preferred
And
Five plus years in a major gift environment, some campaign fundraising preferred with a proven record of accomplishment.
Or
Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Certifications:
Valid state driver’s license CFRE (preferred)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to meet attendance requirements.
Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to speak before small and large groups of people.
Ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle or personal vehicle to travel to various locations to participate in donor meetings, public meetings, events, etc.
Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and time constraints.
Ability and willingness to conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles.
Conduct all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism and donor care. Duties are usually performed seated.
Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking.
Limited amount of physical effort required, associated with walking, standing, lifting, and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) frequently.
Working Conditions:
Work may be performed in an office, a collaborative work office space, or remote home office environment where there is little or no physical discomfort associated with changes in weather or discomfort associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like, but not limited to the office environment.
This position requires a self-motivated, highly organized individual with superior communications skills. Must have demonstrated ability to write persuasively and to positively motivate and influence potential donors. Ability to maintain client confidentiality and privacy.
