Description

Purpose: This role is designed to provide support for TXWF’s CEO, Development and Communications & Engagement Teams. Key elements of the job include facilitating cross-team collaboration and coordinating tasks associated with high-touch donor relations and communications, including timely acknowledgment, intentional stewardship, and CEO donor engagement with careful attention to detail. This role provides critical support for TXWF’s signature events.

About the Role: The Donor Relations Manager will join a tight-knit TXWF team driven by a sense of purpose and urgency. The Donor Relations Manager is a self-starter who possesses strong interpersonal skills; sees no task too small to complete; demonstrates professional confidence and clarity when representing the Foundation; and maintains a high degree of discretion and confidentiality with regard to donor activity.

Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, this individual must be able to prioritize conflicting needs; handle matters expeditiously; and proactively lead projects to successful, on-time completion.  The duties and responsibilities include the following, though other duties may be assigned.

Donor Relations & Communications (50%)

  • Responsible for gift entry for all TXWF donations
  • Updates Raiser’s Edge donor and relationship records as needed
  • Creates and runs reports from Raiser’s Edge to support Development and Communications & Engagement teams, e.g., pledge balances related to fundraising events
  • Manages the gift acknowledgement process and facilitates donor stewardship activities
  • Creates and maintains Board of Director, Committee and Special Stakeholders Lists in NXT
  • Updates NXT records for Board of Directors, Committees, Special Stakeholder Groups

Event Support (30%)

Manages to completion a broad variety of administrative, detailed tasks supporting community-wide events (e.g. Annual Luncheon, Leadership Forum & Awards Celebration, Research Launch) and communications including:

  • Collaborates with staff in the planning and implementation of community-wide events
  • Collaborates with Communications team to develop invitations, eblasts, event registration forms and virtual meeting (Zoom) invitations
  • Assists with tracking/reporting on sponsorship income, pledges and event donation information for events
  • Manages sponsorship invoicing; secures ad materials; coordinates attendees
  • Manages staff calendar
  • Oversees logistics for in-office events for staff and Special Stakeholders
  • Keeps staff kitchen stocked with snacks, paper products, etc.

CEO Donor Engagement (10%)

  • Assists CEO with scheduling, preparation and follow-up with key donors and stakeholders.

Special Projects (10%)

  • Manage occasional special initiatives and projects that the development team will drive on top of its regular cadence of priorities. These will need to be balanced with core responsibilities.

 Experience and Skills

  • Commitment to the mission and vision of Texas Women’s Foundation; understanding of nonprofit sector and fundraising a plus
  • Five+ years’ experience in development or communications
  • Demonstrated database experience, knowledge of Raiser’s Edge a plus
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Superior time management and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines; analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Exceptional writing and interpersonal communication skills; capability to create visually compelling presentations
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Position requires frequent sitting at computer, standing, bending, walking; must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
