Compensation: $52,000 - $60,000 per year (based on experience), comprehensive benefits and meaningful work in an environment that values excellence.

About the Position: Communications and Recruitment Specialist
OneStar Foundation seeks to fill the full-time position of Communications and Recruitment Specialist. This position supports communication functions for the organization and leads the development and implementation of OneStar’s recruitment support strategies for AmeriCorps positions in Texas. The Communication and Recruitment Specialist position performs moderately complex professional work under general supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This position reports to the Communications & Systems Officer and serves on the Development & Communications team, currently with 2 people.
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated, hands-on, organized professional with a positive, can-do attitude. They must enjoy the challenges and rigors of a growing and evolving service-oriented organization and must enjoy working with a variety of organizations, including faith-based and small grassroots community organizations. Flexibility, focus and commitment to the goals of the organization will be critical.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support communications at OneStar and serves as lead for marketing efforts for AmeriCorps member recruitment.
- Serve as primary point of contact for AmeriCorps member recruitment at OneStar.
- Develop recruitment support plan for AmeriCorps Texas programs to enhance recruitment strategies.
- Develop strategic partnerships with schools, universities, community partners to increase awareness of AmeriCorps service opportunities.
- Coordinates existing AmeriCorps member recruitment resources and trainings to connect AmeriCorps programs with recruitment support. Enhance storytelling efforts by creating and distributing blogs, videos, and infographics.
- Develop e-newsletter content for grantees, network partners, and external audiences.
- Track website, email, and social media analytics to identify optimal content, layout, timing, and budgeting across various platforms.
- Brainstorm and execute ideas for social media campaigns and identify and engage with strategic partners on social media. Serve as strategic and content lead for AmeriCorps Texas social media platforms.
- Support collection of video and photo assets
- Ensure brand consistency in tone and visuals
- May represent OneStar at meetings, conferences, events, and other functions, including making remarks or
- May facilitate meetings, focus groups, training, or other events with OneStar grantees.
- May supervise and/or coordinate the project work of

- May be assigned to cross-functional teams to support OneStar goals and

Skills and experience we’re looking for
- 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience; at least 3 years of relevant work experience is
- Understanding and commitment to OneStar’s mission and strategies and to all its programs and
- Understanding and commitment to OneStar’s Core Beliefs and Code of
- AmeriCorps experience preferred, but not
- Experience working with nonprofit organizations is preferred, including faith-based and other grassroots community organizations, and/or other social service sector
- Must thrive in a work environment of significant growth, development, and
- Willing to travel in Texas, and occasionally to other states, for grantee monitoring visits and special events (approximately 20% time).
