Job Title: Director of Donor Relations
Department: Development
Reports to: Chief Development Officer
FLSA Status: Exempt

Position SummaryThe Director of Donor Relations is responsible for donor stewardship through engagement, events, volunteer opportunities, marketing and database management to support Communities In Schools’ annual development goals. This individual is an innovator and creator who works collaboratively with other departments to connect donors to CIS’s mission.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform the following satisfactorily; other duties may be assigned. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Works collaboratively with program staff to create meaningful experiences that connect donors to mission
  • Maintain and analyze Bloomerang donor database software including segmented lists
  • Responsible for donor acknowledgement letters
  • Oversees CIS’s two signature fundraising events, with help of CDO
  • Oversees and grows CIS’s volunteer program
  • Develops and oversees career days, field trips and in-kind donation drives such as school supplies and holiday meal bags; works with corporate partners to ensure success
  • Cultivates relationships through stewardship strategy and execution
  • Works with CDO to develop and maintain giving society; ensures appropriate stewardship and recognition
  • Follows Moves Management and maintains timely records of all interactions, solicitations, and results with prospects
  • Designs marketing collateral for internal and external stakeholders, including success stories, annual reports and gratitude pieces
  • Oversees CIS’s social media accounts and strategies; works with CDO to create digital campaigns and send eblasts, newsletters, etc.
  • Updates CIS’s website as needed
  • Works collaboratively with the development team to achieve department goals.
  • Assist Chief Development Officer with other duties as needed

Qualifications:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • At least 3-5 years of experience in donor stewardship and event planning
  • Knowledge of philanthropic community in Fort Worth/Greater Tarrant County
  • Innovator and self-starter, goal driven with strong passion for CIS’s mission
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills; Ability to effectively articulate the mission/vision of CIS and a demonstrated experience in working with individuals who have philanthropic capacity
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Computer Skills:

Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Knowledge of Canva and Adobe Creative Suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator. Databases: Bloomerang, FundraiseUp and Handbid
