Job Title:                      Director of Clinical Services (Clinical Director)

Department:               Clinical Services and Crisis Services

Reports To:                 Chief Executive Officer

  • Summary: Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center (DARCC) is seeking a seasoned Director of Clinical Services to oversee all aspects of clinical services delivery, including clinical supervision, consultation, and programmatic planning and evaluation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the field of interpersonal violence. S/He will be fully licensed as a clinical mental health provider and state approved clinical supervisor. This self-motived, passionate, and highly ethical individual must have significant experience providing administrative and clinical supervision as well as comfort and experience with public speaking and teaching/training. Bi-lingual (Spanish) Preferred.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Clinical Services

  • Supervise the development, delivery, and evaluation of clinical services.
  • Supervise, train and support counselors and graduate clinical interns.
  • Act as the board approved clinical licensure supervisor for post graduate interns.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy to persons impacted by sexual violence in person and virtual.

  • Facilitate clinical group supervision and provide individual supervision weekly for each employee and intern.

Program Evaluation, Development, Management

  • Ensure that the clinical department functions smoothly and efficiently.
  • Identify and implement evidence-based practices in keeping with a survivor-centered, trauma informed approach.
  • Identify and implement best practices and processes to ensure services delivered are high quality and compliant with all licensing and agency requirements.
  • Develop, plan and implement strategies to manage program growth. Review and recommend changes in program services to meet client needs.
  • Develops and implements outcome measures and evaluates programs and projects
  • Supervises, prepares and submits program, project, contract and grant reports.
  • Facilitates regular program and project personnel staff meetings, case staffing meetings, and professional development training sessions/meetings.
  • Leads the recruiting, hiring, training and ongoing performance evaluation of the program personnel.
  • Recruit graduate interns, conduct campus outreach and maintain working relationships with graduate schools
  • Ensure all clinicians adhere to standards, maintaining licensing requirements and providing excellent care to clients
  • Provide consultation for staff, interns and volunteers as needed
  • Work closely with other departments to promote successful communication and collaboration between all DARCC programs
  • Promote a positive and supportive team environment with a strong mission focus

Agency Representation/Community Engagement

  • Conduct speaking engagements within the community about sexual violence, related topics and the DARCC response.
  • Provide trainings both in house and in the community on relevant clinical topics.
  • Provide expert witness testimony as requested.
  • Represent DARCC in a professional manner within the community by attending relevant community meetings, coalitions, trainings etc.
  • Represent the agency in association with other agencies, at fundraising events, and with donors at the direction of the CEO.
  • Collaborates with other community agencies and service providers while developing referral networks.

Qualifications

Licensure and Certifications

  • LPC, LMFT, LMSW, LMSW-ACP, LCSW and/or licensed doctorate in related field issued by the State of Texas. Supervisory credentials are preferred.
  • EMDR Trained or Certified, Preferred.

Education and/or Experience

  • Master Degree in Counseling, Social Work or related field. Must have3-5 years of clinical supervision and administrative management experience; preferably within a non-profit setting AND have demonstrated supervision and clinical capabilities working with a complex client population.
  • Must be extremely knowledgeable in the field of interpersonal violence and have at least 5-7 years of experience working directly with survivors of interpersonal violence in both individual and group settings.
  • Trained in the delivery of an evidence based treatment (CPT, DBT, EMDR preferred) and experience implementing evidence based practices within a team.
  • Will possess a thorough understanding of the nature of traumatic experiences and their impact.
  • Must have an understanding of and experience delivering services within a trauma-informed setting.  Experience training/implementing trauma informed care within a team setting is a plus.
  • Must have experience providing effective and client centered crisis intervention.
  • Will have experience with public speaking and staff/volunteer training.

Language/Communication Skills

  • Will have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written.
  • Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and evaluate the most complex documents, including professional journals and research. Ability to create and develop program reports, grant and contract proposals, and program or project manuals with accompanying forms.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquires or complaints.

Additional Qualifications

  • Able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, staff and community contacts and able to effectively address and resolve conflict as needed.
  • Demonstrates experience with and sensitivity to varying cultural, ethnic, and social backgrounds, values, and attitudes.
  • Commitment to a holistic approach to providing services, as well as to community-based solutions for addressing the root causes of violence and survivor needs.
  • Ability to work respectfully with diverse teams, build consensus and motivate change.
  • Acceptance of agency philosophies regarding domestic violence, internal conflict resolutions, and how decisions are made.

Technology / Computer Skills

  • Must demonstrate reasonable proficiency with computers and other electronic devices, as well as agency software needed to fulfill responsibilities.
